Location 10 minutes to Hoedspruit town. Unless giraffes are standing in the road, which could mean a short delay. Gated “soft game” wildlife estate. Soft game means that there are no lions, elephant or other dangerous animals. However giraffes, warthogs, porcupine, sable and other antelope, etc. roam the reserve. We had duiker and porcupine out our sliding door, warthog and sable at breakfast. Great place to relax a few days getting over jet-lag before going into Kruger (like we have done many times) or before visiting a posh big five reserve - because why spend a fortune when you are too jet lagged to appreciate it.

The owner and the staff were so so helpful! Every single thing was top notch and clean. Loved the view from our room and the lodge was also at a perfect location. Breakfast was also great, will surely stay here again the next time we come to Kruger.

We were incredibly impressed by the lodge – your help was simply outstanding. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the host’s assistants were joyful and absolutely delightful. We ate exceptionally well. Truly no words. Annie and John, we’re deeply grateful for the warm and loving treatment and everything else. The location & style of the accommodation were perfect and so romantic. Nyarai and the staff were nice and gentle! Our stay was so great we wouldn’t leave and will come back for sure as soon as we can. The cuisine on offer at Moya is so delicate and sophisticated, with a chef and his assistant who take the time to explain everything and lead the way with brio! We enjoyed every moment of it. Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, where the Moya is, is really safe and you can see many animals 🤩 Thank you Nyarai and the team! You rock 🤩

    It is a lovely laid back town with plenty of wildlife experiences Our experience at HESC was memorable with our awesome guide Heike The town has local coffee shops curios and is close to Kruger park and wonderful panoramic drives. Shops like Pick n Pay and Spar are also here for those who have self-catering accommodation

    Hoedspruit is close to the airport where most flights carrying tourists to the Kruger National Park lands. It is a vibrant town with a restaurants, a good hospital and where one can stock up on groceries,etc. for a visit to the park. It is surrounded by lots of game reserves and close to the Numbi entrance gate. An ideal place to sleepover on or back to the airport and Johannesburg.

    I wish booking.com can do an unannounced visit at Rio Dos...

    I wish booking.com can do an unannounced visit at Rio Dos Elephants River Camp when they have customers to inspect the area and the treatment. Hoedspruit has got beautiful places that we have visited before with exceptional customer orientation and value for money ethics, I would recommend people to visit Hoedspruit and its places but would not recommend them to visit Rio Dos. our stay at Rio was a bad experience, booking.com charged us R 5, 589 and upon confirmation a sum of R 2 794.50, on our departure the owner told us that she charges her facility on her own rates which we had to pay an extra R 3 544.50 which added up to R 6 339. To our surprise our was not comfortable and cold with air conditioning that is not working we are told it only works in summer for cold air only, our breakfast had limited milk, sugar, bread if it is finished none will be provided. there's quite a lot to mention, in two words "BAD EXPERIENCE".

    Hoedspruit appears to have a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants. There are various outlets catering for visitors, with a fair number of the typical South African grocery and general stores as well. The traffic can be quite daunting - 4-way Stops with all manner of turning movements. It is surely time for traffic signals to be installed at the main intersections. Pedestrian facilities are sadly lacking.

    Boat cruise was a fascinating experience for us.

    Boat cruise was a fascinating experience for us. The guide has deep knowledge of the Blyde canyon. He was friendly and warm. What i didn't like the gravel road leading to the boat... too many big humps - makes it inaccessible for people with small cars. Bushbaby River lodge is the place to go- accessible and friendly. Staff is great and bubbly. I recommend it for people who love quiet spaces. Pensioners can relax and enjoy their quiet time there.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm hospitality, cleanliness, and peaceful atmosphere.We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and left with great memories. Without a doubt, we would visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable getaway.

    The location of this hotel is so unique! It was such a delight to drive through the estate and see giraffes roaming about. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and so filling! We opted for dinner for one of the nights and could not have been happier with the 3 course meal that was served! I would highly recommend doing the cycle tour that is offered, it is a stunning way to view the wildlife that is on the property.

    Was the only guest, and the chef was amazing cooking for one! I'm very glad the hotel offered me the opportunity to pre-book the meal as location seemed remote. Chef was very pleasant and interacted. Beautiful room with doors out onto patio.
