United KingdomThe last three hotels I've stayed at have been awesome. The preceding two in Razzakov and Batken which I thought couldn't be matched, however, Kungrad hotel is by far my best hotel experience ever, and I'll tell you why...
I attended the Muynaq festival, however, the festival ticket date was incorrect by a day, and as such I cancelled the train I had booked for May 31 to Aktau, only to discover that this connection was now fully booked for the next 10 days and the road closed until September. The owner of the hotel drove me to the station upon learning this and after some substantial effort, later that day I received a text informing me that a ticket had appeared just for me to collect from the station that afternoon for the next day! Had I not had this help, I would not have made it to Aktau and would have had to reroute my trip completely as there is no other border with Kazakhstan for thousands of kilometres. Aside from this act of generosity, the hotel itself was also very nice and great value too, with solid WiFi, clean bathrooms and hot water throughout. I was very pleased indeed and all the more so having been in the desert for the prior three days and a train from Andijan and further preceding travel from Batken the days before. After 1 week of continuous travel in arid heat - arriving at this hotel was the best possible thing that could happen :) Thank you all so much!
