Hotel, staff, room, facilities, location. Everything was perfect. Even the 9 bucks for parking was reasonable. Bed was super comfy and the shower was excellent. Bang in the middle of downtown Roanoke so close to everything. Staff were incredibly nice. Hotel itself was very classy, very unique. I highly recommend the transport museum round the corner if you're into that kind of thing. I could have stayed there all day.

    Roanoke, VA has NO CABS.

    Roanoke, VA has NO CABS. You must get an Uber or Lift if you do not want to drive to a dinner destination. The hotel did not inform us that there would be a parade on Saturday, and many streets were closed as a result. So driving around wasn't easy.

    Lots to do in Roanoke.

    Lots to do in Roanoke. Bars, resteraunts and nearby wineries. Plenty of shopping with all the big names. Civic center close by as well as the airport within minutes. While not a huge city, Roanoke has everything you could want for a vacation visit. Highly recommend Smoky Bones at the mall entrance.

    Enjoyed the Taubman Museum of art.

    Enjoyed the Taubman Museum of art. Very friendly staff and it's extra nice that admission is FREE. Lots to look at after in the downtown area. Had an amazing meal at Billy's, very reasonable prices and fantastic services. Also got a chance to see the famous Roanoke Star, there is a good viewing point in the downtown parking lot, there is also historic signage showing other points of interest.

    What an absolute gem of a town.

    What an absolute gem of a town. It is super clean and quiet, although it is more than a town and already a small city! Family-friendly with LOADS of stimulating and educational things to do with kids of all ages. My wife did not want to leave the O. Winston Link museum, and once I got her to the Virginia Transport Museum, she wanted to linger longer. We did not even get to go to the town center or the art museum. I would suggest spending at least three nights and two full days here.

    You mean the town of Roanoke?

    You mean the town of Roanoke? It's a commode, ya want the truth.... We stay at the Hampton Inn Valley View 4 times a year however, because it's the only decent SAFE place to stay as a halfway point on our travels northward to visit family, with many restaurants a stone's throw away. Other than that, it's just another democrat-wrecked liberal hellhole, ya ask me... Note... the taxes on their gasoline is stupid-level as well.... a DIS-incentive for travelers to stop to gas up. Always $.15-$.30 cents higher than peripheral counties. Short of an emergency, i would avoid buying gas there like a fart in the elevator.

    There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful; we came through just as the South East was being hit by Storm Helene, and so we suddenly needed to be here for an extra night rather than journeying onwards. This was accommodated quickly and sympathetically, and we were able to remain in the same room despite only booking another night at 9am on the morning we should have left.

    This is the second time staying at Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Roanoke VA. We chose Hampton because of the first stay, which was excellent and within two blocks of our event. The King bed room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast had a verity of offerings, with the western omelette and fried potatoes more than filling. The only improvement would keep the coffee hot and fresh.

    We were in Roanoke for my son's wedding and booked our room at Hotel Roanoke along with the wedding rehearsal dinner in the Regency Room. The guest room was clean and spacious. The dinner Friday night was superb and the wait staff was on point! Highly recommend you consider Hotel Roanoke when staying in Roanoke.
