Friendly folks at all businesses! Loved the crater of Diamonds State Park, Restaurants were not plentiful but they were all good. The Diamond Old West hotel and cabins was an awesome place to stay, just can't say enough about our experience staying there! Sitting on the balcony overlooking open fields is so relaxing. There is so much to do for kids of all ages (adults too if you want to join in), from a playground to tetherball, beach volleyball, and peddle car races, foam party and jumping mat, plus so much more. You can end the night roasting marshmallows and making amores in a teepee! The hotel is close to the crater, which is a plus. A full sized BBQ grill with all the supplies (except charcoal) to cook with. I loved that we had a fire pit with firewood already cut for us. There was also a grate to cook on the fire too. The shower had plenty of hot water for all five of our guests. I liked how we had a big refrigerator for all of our groceries. I even took a nap in one of the bunks. We were really close to the swim area at the lake and got to take a nice scenic drive down there to look at wildlife and check out the campground.
