My husband and I had a terrific time in Las Cruces. We came down for a four day trip to look at homes and we found a beautiful one! If you are interested in moving to Las Cruces, I would recommend reaching to Michael Carvlin at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate- Steinborn & Associates. He took us around the town to introduce us to every aspect of the area. He discussed the good and the bad of every location. One of best places my wife and I ate on our trip through NM was the El Charro Mexican Grill at 1160 El Paseo Rd Suite 13, Las Cruces. Not really a tourist destination.
Not really a tourist destination. If you are from the US and love Hiking then you will probably be ok as it has some stunning scenery and views. Been here twice , both times to ruck/run the Bataan Memorial March at White Sands Missile range - first time in 2018. Homelessness seems a big problem and my first motel felt unsafe and the general vibe is of a place in decline. Probably worth a day's visit if you were in the area and part of a Manhattan Project, Los Alamos tour but definitely not a tourist destination (possibly one night passing through). We have twice stayed in an AirBnb in the Las Cruces/Mesilla area. There are many things to do in the area as long as you have a car. Mesilla is a great place to visit with lots to do. The only thing we didn't like about the area was it was always windy, and many times dusty because of the wind. The temperature in March is very comfortable.Guest review byTomUnited States - 8.0

Quite honestly I always stop in Las Cruces on my way from California to texas. It's halfway so it's a perfect place to stop and I discovered some lovely hotels there. I've not really had a chance to do any touring other than restaurants that I've gone to there on my way to texas. All of them were very nice I've met very friendly people in Las Cruces it seems like a lovely place to visit and stay awhile. I was there for just 3 days for a reunion, spending time with friends most of the time, so I wasn't the usual tourist. I went out to eat often, at excellent places: Hacienca de Mesilla, La Posta de Mesilla, and Milagro's for a good coffee place. I enjoyed the historic places in Mesilla and would like to explore more there. In Las Cruces, I loved the COAS Bookstore on Main Street.Guest review byAnonymous
