Noisy, roads full of noisy traffic. Many hold-ups. Never went near the centre. After 30+ years of visiting it has never appealed to me as a city worth visiting. Vibrant, interestingly chaotic, very good food, pleasant people (majorly), beautiful views from almost everywhere, best climate in the world. The bike rides are 'exciting' but would not use them frequently because of the dangerous driving and chaos on the roads. Make sure to visit Izumi, Four Points, Stone Haven, Dynasty, La Cabana, Sign Cuisine for some very good food/dining. Kampala is a very friendly city, the people are warm and welcoming, the city centre was bustling with life. everyone should try the matooke, gnut sauce and fish. The bodaboda (motorcycle cyclists) make it easy to move around Kampala conveniently.
