Very attentative staff that makes you feel at home. Good quality food with daily changing menu options. Amazingly large room with the most comfortable bed ever! Huge bathroom including bathtub which was great after a long day hiking.

My stay at Nshongi camp was absolutely incredible, the best of my trip: The staff welcomed my warmly by upgrading me to a sublime room where the beds were very comfortable. Moses and the whole team go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They are extremely kind. In addition, the hotel is incredible: view of the forest where animals are visible (I observed colorful birds, monkeys, squirrels and a family of waterbucks), very comfortable (internet and hot shower and two steps from Rushaga Gate) and the food is delicious. I even extended my stay!

Kaara is a truly magical place to stay for exploring Bwindi National park. We were welcomed by Wilfred and his team and then had an amazing and very warm welcome welcome by the local village culture group who performed music and dancing to tell us about their culture! This was the best welcome we have ever had to a hotel! Throughout our stay, all of the staff worked tirelessly to make us comfortable - from cleaning our boots after a days hiking (thank you Moses!) to setting up breakfast on the terrace to watch the sunrise! A particular highlight was a short sunset hike, led by Barnabus to give us panoramic views of the sunset and volcano! Thank you Barnabus - we really enjoyed this and appreciated you taking the time to walk with us! The staff lit us a fire each evening at the fire pit so we could have a drink as the sun went down. The chefs did an excellent job and the food was great! They also prepared delicious lunches for us on the days we were out hiking. Before we stayed, Peter was extremely helpful in sorting out our Gorilla tracking permits - even going to the bank when the payment was delayed and emailing them to us ahead of time! Having the permits sorted helped everything run smoothly for our days gorilla tracking. You do need to print the permits in advance so much sure you do this before travelling! Whilst staying at Kaara, we also did the Batwa Forest cultural experience (booked through the UWA) - we were unsure what to expect from this and were sceptical as it seemed to be a lot of money, however we were so glad we did! We hiked through the forest with some of the Batwa community who showed us about how they lived in the forest as we went. They showed us where they lived, how they made fire, climbed trees for fruit, caught animals and many more things. It was amazing to see how resourceful they were and also how happy and comfortable they were in the forest. I would recommend doing this to anyone who has an extra day after gorilla trekking.

This lodge is situated absolutely beautiful at the border of the rainforest. You can observe a lot of birds and other animals directly from the patio of the quiet located and separated appartements in the forest. The lovely staff was very friendly and courteous. Best banana pancakes for breakfast we've ever eaten. We stayed 3 nights and it was one of the best accomodations we had on our roadtrip in Uganda. For nature lovers it is the best choice in the Rushaga sector. Just 15 minutes drive to the UWA-gate for the gorilla trekking.

EVERYTHING. It was in an amazing location overlooking Bwindi, with astonishing views. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff, Jennifer in particular were amazing. I even got a push start when my battery went :) The food was delicious. If you are considering booking here, then please do! It was the best place we stayed in the whole if Uganda & Rwanda. Cylia and all the staff were fantastic and made sure we didn't miss anything! We are two young women and we stayed at the Ruhija Gorilla Guest house for one night and then tracked with the gorillas the next day but we would have stayed longer! Our room was fantastic, spacious, clean and with two big comfortable beds. The dinner they cooked for us was great and Cylia is careful to fulfil your every wish. Before dinner we visited the village (an experience not to be missed) we met the local people and visited the school and the orphanage; all the people are extremely kind. The view & the people <3 We had a great time with Nelly and the team. They were all so welcoming and helpful. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Nelly is just lovely. She opened up a new hobby for us - which is “Birding” and showed us how its done. Good talks, good times. Thanks for everything!

Great place to relax after the gorilla tracking and enjoy the view from the terrace! Richard is the perfect host: he helped us organize the gorilla tracking close to the lodge, he took us on a culture walk to meet the local tribe and he made fire every night to sit by :) Highly recommended!
