What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Shoki Shoki house was booked last minute for 3 night and it did not disappoint. The general manager, David, was very helpful and honest when we sat down to ask him about the island and Serengeti safari. The property did not disappoint and the location was ideal, a close walk to the beach, the market and restaurants. It is clean, the staff is pleasant, the breakfast is delish, and the overall experience was extremely positive. Asante Sana to everyone at the HOUSE.

This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Right at the water with great views and in the city centre. I had room Nr 27 and I could not have gotten a better room, with a view directly to the sea. It was quiet and with enough privacy. Beautiful bathroom, I love the architecture of the building. Great pool. The staff is very kind, very professional. I would come back here if again in stone town. Thank you Tembo Team.

Very well located in the heart of Stone Town, still close to the main road so your transfer can drop you off close. Rooms were good and very comfortable beds. Staff was warm and always kind. The breakfast was fantastic, super complete, with lots of fruits and delicacies.

Beautiful! The furnishing and the vibe there is so tranquil. Food at the hotel was good quality and price pretty much the same as any restaurant in the area. Rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfortable. Warm shower and good shower pressure. Staff super friendly and the location is perfect! Breakfast is soo goood!!!
