I am very satisfied with my stay! The flats are located in a very good location. There are many different facilities (e.g. a very large swimming pool). The room I had was large, clean and very comfortable. I must also thank the owners and the staff who took care of everything perfectly. They helped me in every situation. First I have to thank Kasha and Paul. both were unreal. everything was clean and fragrant. room restaurant or food. I was surprised that there were no mosquitoes. the internet was missing in the room, but the internet connection was very fast in the restaurant. I recommend coming by car. Drive around the whole island. it is a good point for trips and attractions in the area.

We had amazing stay in there. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, very nice place. Food vas really amazing! Dinner and also breakfast was great. You get fruit platter, amazing and warm pastry, butter and homemade jam plus you can choose some dish from the menu. Very good selection of meals. We will definitely come back. One small thing - some umbrellas by the pool would be fine since all sunbeds are on sun and there is not that many options of shadow. :)

You won’t find a better place to stay at this price point. Absolutely fantastic staff, room and facilities. Bikes available for cruising around Matemwe which was our favourite part of Zanzibar.

We absolutely love Queen and we’re very happy we picked this hotel in Zanzibar! We spent many days reading reviews, pros and cons, trying to decide where to stay. We wanted a property with infrastructure and personality, not too commercial -and Queen Hotel was exactly what we had in mind. In fact it overcame our expectations. -The rooms are simple, but very clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed, good shower and lovely balcony. -The property is very cute, with hammocks, volleyball court, spa, nice pool area, and a station with water shoes that can be borrowed for free. -Our favorite part was the restaurant, which has a new menu every night with delicious food and different entertainment attractions. The barbecue night was really fun. The prices are fair, around $6 for a cocktail or starter, main courses ranging from $12-$20. -They offer shuttle from/to the airport and a huge variety of tours. The hotel is right next to a diving center and we had one of the most amazing experiences while scuba diving. We didn’t have the certification, so they provided a lesson at the pool and organized everything for us. -They have water dispensers throughout the property, so guests can refill their bottles anytime. -The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was perfect! 10/10 would recommend

    Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.

    The snorkeling was a true adventure, with well-protected marine life and crystal-clear water. Spotting the dolphins was an unexpected bonus! Visiting the sea turtle rehabilitation center and feeding them was a special experience.

    Matemwe beach was huge and totally uncrowded - some days we were lucky to see 10 - 20 people pass by! Loved the Massai beach hawkers - friendly and laid back happy to have their pictures taken - no hassle or relentless chasing - once told 'no' they respected our space. Recommend a day trip to Nungwi for a completely different vibe and fantastic sunset. Matemwe is somewhat isolated and if you want to get around you need to secure the number of a local taxi driver - always bargain hard beforehand. Most hotels organise trips/tours but at a premium.

    It was a quieter beach which was nice which also meant not too many people hassling you to buy things. Those that did were respectful. Beach is nice but the sea depth is very shallow most of the day so swimming wasn't the easiest and there was a lot of seaweed when we were there.

    It’s very quiet, very few non hotel restaurants, overpriced food everywhere, can’t swim in the sea unless you don’t mind knee deep water. There’s no town, or town centre outside the beach hotels, so a long stay would be challenging if you want more than just lounging by the hotel pool.

    Matemwe and its area is a quiet place where you can relax and enjoy the beach, the activities (snorkeling, swimming with dolphins) especially if you are a couple, because the village is not very full of enterteinments or night parties.

Amazing rooms, delicious food, three a’la carte restaurants for free, you can eat there as many times as you want!     Everything was just perfect here: the location, facilities, staff, super fresh (sea)food, atmosphere, the pool, the pergola shades with sunbeds, outside shower and (last but not least) the beach. Very quiet place too. Free wifi everywhere, towels for the sunbeds, drinks served at the pool, you name it. If we make it back to Zanzibar we will for sure come back here.
