Everything! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bright. The bar was packed with drinks. True hotel experience. There were even slippers and other amenities that the hotels in other countries did not offer. Truly a comfortable stay away from home.

if you're looking for a very comfortable hostel, this is it!! the bunk beds (12 people) were very comfortable, everyone has a shelf next to their bed box as well as a locker (big suitcases won't fit). you might think it gets very noisy in such a big dorm, but it was fine!! the shared bathrooms were clean and nice too, i looked forward to showering there after a sweaty day haha. despite every facility being a shared space, you have lots of privacy. the community room (?) was really comfortable and spacious with sofas and fatboys and a kitchen, it's great for working from there. there's a terrace too which i recommend spending time at at night! and lastly, the breakfast/restaurant was amazing, you can choose from a menu every morning and they will prepare a delicious meal for you. all in all felt like a pretty luxurious hostel :) would come back

This boutique hotel has very tasteful interior design. We booked a room with vinyl player, we get to rent vinyl for free from the lobby. There are also film cameras to rent at the lobby too. Staff were very helpful with the vinyl rental arrangement! They have great facilities too. They have a thoughtfully curated library (books are mainly in mandarin). There are also well equipped kitchen and a communal dining area. They even have an arcade room! There are two washing machines and two dryer, great for those who stays long and need to do laundry The breakfast provided is at a restaurant at top floor, which has modern retro design. They provide wide variety of local food at the breakfast bar, which we enjoyed a lot! Provintia Hotel even created a newspaper, book and booklet that introduce attractions or food in Tainan city. They don’t have to do that, but they put in the effort to give the extra touch that elevates the stay. The Provintia Hotel team has done a good job! From design, to hospitality, branding, to even collaborating with the local community for special event. Please keep it up, needless to say, I will come back to stay in Provintia Hotel if I’m ever in Tainan again.

A slightly more expensive hotel where we stayed because reports of an approaching typhoon made us decide to look for a really good and safe hotel. Exceptionally for November, a typhoon was announced that seemed quite strong on the weather maps. However, by the day it was supposed to reach Taiwan, the typhoon had already weakened considerably and there was ultimately no problem anymore. The slightly more expensive hotel of course had very comfortable and large rooms with very large beds. The bathroom was equipped with a bath and a large shower cubicle. The room also has a kettle and tea. Funny thing was that in the evening we could not find all the switches to turn off the lights. One particular switch was hidden under a pillow on the bed 😊 Very large breakfast room with the most extensive breakfast buffet I have seen in Taiwan: Asian and Western dishes! Everything very tasty. When checking in, you choose a time slot within which you can have breakfast. The hotel is located 20 minutes walk from the train station: one long street with a sidewalk that has many small thresholds that doesn't make it easy for those travelling with a trolley. Very friendly staff at the reception who help with city maps and information on how to get somewhere. Ideal hotel for those who don't think it's too expensive.

Excellent services - all staff were attentive and helpful. The daily breakfast was highlight for us. Course breakfast served at right pace and delicious, can choose from Cantonese, western, vegetarian and abalone porridge. We chose the first 3 choices for 3 nights stay. The location is good for exploring old town area in Anping and Sicao area for the boat ride. High CP.

    The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan. You can access most of these places just with a single YouBike.

    Go and see the old city at Anping - lots of interesting...

    Go and see the old city at Anping - lots of interesting history, including Fort Zeelandia. Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan so it is worth exploring. It would have been fun to hire a bicycle but we only had an evening. Next time!

    I would not recommend visiting on a Monday as most of the shops, cafes and bars were shut during the day time and also in the evening it was quite difficult to find somewhere to eat. However it is an interesting city and if you can do a sunset cruise round the canals.

    We liked everything about Tainan.

    We liked everything about Tainan. The people in the street were so helpful and went out of their way to help whenever we asked for directions or had other questions. So many places to eat and the food is great.

    This city is celebrating it's 400-th anniversary.

    This city is celebrating it's 400-th anniversary. Many of the history to see. BUT the best is still the food. You MUST try the Fried Spanish mackerel thick soup (土魠魚羮). I will never get tired of the soup in Tainan!

    Tainan is one of the most popular destinations in Taiwan for...

    Tainan is one of the most popular destinations in Taiwan for both locals and visitors. Hotels are more expensive than in nearby Kaohsiung, which is a little over an hour away by train, so it is possible to stay in one city and do a day trip to the other... there is much to see and do in both cities. A little research before travelling will help with planning your trip to both Tainan and Kaohsiung and enjoying the best of both worlds. For those interested in history the Chimei Museum in Tainan is a must do but be aware this place is really popular both with tourists and locals... well over 1.5 million visits each year. The Chimei Museum has both a restaurant and coffee shop. Ten Drum Cultural Center is located directly opposite the museum and is a bit of an adventure playground that has a 5-story high extreme slide and a 7-story high free fall ride. The weather in Tainan in summer is hot and humid.

    The Dynasty is a three star hotel located on the busy Chenggong Road, which is about a 6-7 minute walk from the Tainan City Station. There is an RJ Mart (Filipino grocery store) across the road and a 711 on the corner. A short walk towards the train station there are a couple of shopping mall style buildings (Focus & Shin Kong) complete with food courts. The rooms were clean and tidy, which had free WiFi and the television screens were a decent size. There is an old self service laundry area up on the roof which came in handy

    It's a good hotel if you travel with very young kids < 6-8 years due to all the activities, provided for kids. Located very conveniently next to ShinKong Mitsukoshi and very near to downtown Tainan. Staff of the hotel was super friendly and caring, breakfast buffet was refilled instantly.

    The hotel is located in the city center and it's close to the Chihkan Tower. The staff is nice and helpful: they gave us a list of all the traditional food and night markets to try in Tainan and they also helped us do the laundry. The room was big enough.
