Great trails, both half-day or full day, from moderate to slightly challenging (especially for anyone with mobility issues). Skok waterfall trail is terrific. Jamske Pleso trail is flatter and less rough, but we did see a common viper on the trail and fresh bear poo! The trail around Strbske Pleso lake itself is very enjoyable and scenic. Furkotka restaurant (opposite Hotel Toliar) and Koliba Patria restaurant overlooking the lake we're terrific value and lovely food. Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed.
Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed. The real value of this location is all the hiking that's possible in the area. The nature here is stunning. An easy one hour hike will take you to another lake called Popradske pleso and a further 90 minute hike (a bit more difficult) from there will take you to the largest lake Velke Hincovo pleso. That area is beautiful. It looks like something from The Lord of the Rings. There is also a great restaurant in Strbske pleso called Furkotka with great food and service.Guest review byIvanSlovakia

The enviroment of the Strbske mountain lake is breathtaking. The hotel's exterior is in a traditional alpine style and very nicely and modernly on the inside. We appreciared the spacious room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. For breakfast and dinner there was a wide selection of food that tasted great. We relaxed in the beautiful spa. Close to some amazing hikes and the view of the lake was a bonus. Villa Marina is small and intimate, so it is also nice and quiet. The studio was comfortable and suitable for self catering, except for the lack of a toaster. You also get to use the spa facilities at the Hotel Smolinski, which after a long hike are very welcome. If you want comfort, you can get it for money. The breakfast was fabulous. The location is splendid; just be prepared for a 5 km hike from the nearest parking lot.
