We had a truly lovely stay at Lusitano Garden Villas. The room was beautifully decorated, with a thoughtful layout and most importantly for me plenty of storage space so clothes weren’t left out in the open. It felt both stylish and practical. Each villa includes a secluded terrace, which was perfect for relaxing in peace. A small addition like a drying rack or pole for towels would’ve made it even more convenient. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was cleaned to an excellent standard. The pool was a highlight for my daughter, warm enough to enjoy throughout most of the day, and a great way to unwind. We also booked a horse riding session, which was a fantastic experience. The trainer was excellent, and the horse was gentle and well cared for. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the snack menu. The pizza we tried didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the experience. If evening meals aren’t offered, perhaps a curated list of nearby restaurants that deliver would be a helpful touch.

We stayed 6 nights in this hotel and liked it. The staff was great, extremely kind and helpful. The hotel was nicely decorated, the room was large and clean, cleaned every day. We had an armchair and a little sofa at the desk. The hotel is very well located, close to everything - many restaurants and shops at walking distance. The hotel has a Japanese restaurant with delicious dishes and great service. The breakfast, although the same every day, was generous offering multiple choices for all tastes. The pool looked nice but we could not use it as it was too cold outside (in February). We needed two umbrellas and the receptionists were so kind to borrow them to us. / I had a business meeting in a morning, earlier than breakfast's opening, and the staff was nice to offer me a business room and a coffee. / We've got guidance for the attractions and trips around the island and helped to be in contact with a travel agency organizing tours. / We could have late checkout. We would happily stay again in this hotel!

    It's a very pleasant city, very clean, and has many great cafes and restaurants. It's wonderful to simply stroll through the streets and is a good base for traveling in Sao Miguel and taking excursions on the island. I really liked this city.

    Biggest town on the island. You will find... - many good restaurants - lovely streets with lots of shops - a huge shopping center close to the main area - a harbour with many shops and a decent variety of activities you can choose from like whale/dolphin watching etc. If you drive by car through Ponta Delgada you should be used to "narrow surroundings". But no worries, everybody with enough driving experience should not have a problem in Ponta Delgada.

    There were too many tourists (in August) Not as many as in Lisbon, but still more than I would have liked. Getting dinner without a reservation was difficult. If driving, the streets are very narrow, mostly one way with parked cars, and quite difficult to negotiate. it's vital to tuck in your side mirror when parking, or it will be hit by a passing car. Walking is also an adventure as many sidewalks are less than one person wide. Restaurant and bar opening days and times seem to be arbitrary. We found one good bar the first night but it was closed every time we tried to go back.

    We had a great room on the 6th floor (the highest floor) overlooking the marina. The room was always thoroughly cleaned, and all the staff were very friendly and had a good command of English. The staff were all wonderful.

    The city was nice especially the city center, also the botanical gardens were really amazing. However we came especialy to discover the island Sao Miguel that is absolutely fabulous. For traveling on the island we used rented car - without the car I can´t imagine to be that smooth as it was with car.

    We hired a scooter for 4 of the 5 days we stayed there to tour the island which was easily accessible with good surfaced quiet well signposted roads following directions from mobile phone in pocket. We enjoyed driving on all the flower-lined roads, walking amongst natural flora and fauna, woods and coastline and were fascinated by all the varied unique volcanic landscapes. We also liked visiting the formal gardens and cultural attractions plus seeing all the beautiful churches. We tended to eat out somewhere different in the day time while we were touring and then just have snacks in the evening so did not eat out in Ponta Delgada itself. Sao Miguel is a welcoming, clean and tidy, unspoilt, not over touristed, under-stated, perfect mild warm climate, subtle, modest haven for anyone who especially loves botany, geology and the sea.

    I stayed here just for one night with my wife before our flight away from Azores and the room was spacious, with a fairly large bed and overall clean, though not spotless. The bathroom, which was private but located outside the room, could use a bit more attention, but it was fine for a short stay. What we really appreciated was the host’s option to drive guests to the airport for a very reasonable price, probably much better than calling a taxi, and available even at convenient hours. For one night, it was perfectly okay.

    The hosts were very friendly and welcomed us with a basket of groceries as well. Moreover, they provided us with a map of the São Miguel island and suggested one of the most beautiful places to visit during our stay in Azores. Although we did not explicitly ask for it, our studio was cleaned and new towels were provided. We gladly recommend this place.

    We spent here 2 nights and everything was great - room and bathroom were really nice and clean, bed was so comfortable, the host (greetings for Mr Carlos) was so kind and cheerful. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. That was our stop during the honeymoon on Azores so we get extra surprise from the hotel :)

    The hotel is amazing! The best place we stayed at in Azores. The staff is very kind and friendly, the food at the restaurant is delicious, both breakfast and lunch. We loved the design a lot - minimalistic and modern. They also have a small gallery with paintings on each floor, which we enjoyed a lot.
