The hotel is massive with multiple restaurants, bars and lounging areas. The pools were lovely! The hotel room is really spacious and we loved the bathrooms. The shower is really spacious and the marble splurged everywhere in the hotel screams luxury and opulence. The Galaxia fine dining restaurant was lovely. We chose to go a la carte and had the artisan bread, wagu beef skewer and red snapper (catch of the day). The food was delicious and worth the price if you like fine dining. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Great variety, very friendly staff and delicious food! The downstairs bar staff were amazing and we liked the love music nights. The staff are friendly, kind and really made the hotel feel more "warm" with their personalities!

Caju is a high quality modern boutique hotel. The location in the centre of Funchal is highly touristic, Caju is unique but wouldn't appeal to everyone The staff were excellent and providing some great recommendations for local restaurants that are not typical for tourists. The quality of everything was excellent and the Caju restuarant particularly good for vegan, quality, fresh food. There is a small gym but no other communal facilities

Perfect location in the centre of Funchal, but very quiet surroundings. Wonderful breakfast with plenty of fresh food, also made on request. A lot of local fresh fruits. Extremely helpful personnel. Goncalo recommended us several places to eat and enjoy Funchal - all of them were just great for us. Well equipped spa. We also had a massage in the hotel. Good bar on the ground floor. We did not have time to enjoy the pool bar on the roof. We made a reservation for 2 nights, but finally we have stayed 7 nights. Unforgettable stay.

Everything, the location, surroundings, it was so pretty with the flowers, butterflies and all the green around. the facilities was so interesting and special. Breakfast was good but mostly the view and very the breakfast where located was fantastic. Last but not least the staff was amazing and so polite and professional, they even asked me when I wanted to go to the restaurant late at night if I wanted someone to follow me there I think that was a little bit extra. Overall we are happy that we choose this hotel.

    The only one real "city" on Madeira, very lovely, green, excellent choice of places for breakfast and dinner. Prices are also better than everywhere on an island. The cable car and Monte park are exceptional. You would probably spend more time travelling around the island than in Funchal itself. But transport connectivity is the best from Funchal as well, especially if you take buses

No words can describe the variety of restaurants, bars, sites, museums, cafes, wineries, theatres, shopping and cultural experience this beautifully kept city provides.     Funchal is a lovely place to visit.

    Funchal is a lovely place to visit. We have been going there for many years. It has become much busier and I hope it doesn't become a victim of its own success. The hotels are busier as are the restaurants. The prices are reasonable.

    Very beautiful ,attractive and a busy city, panoramically situated on the steep slopes above the ocean, full of natural ,historical and cultural tourist attaractions ,Great food, restaurants ,bars and cafes !Friendly local people ,nice bus, Uber and Bolt drivers. I enjoyed Plaza Madeira - a gorgeous and beautiful shopping mall on three levels ,great food store -.Pingo doce supermarket with a great buffet, very reasonably priced as well as a variety of boutiques with gorgeous clothes like Quebramar, where we were able able to buy a great and beautiful cotton jackets plus many other services and cafes. plazamadeira.pt/en/stores/

    Madeira is a beautiful island, with lots to explore and do. Some interesting trips available, we liked the west tour in particular. Funchal is a lovely city to wander around and outside the city there are some fantastic views and scenery.

    This hotel really was the perfect break away for myself and my mother, lots of really lovely restaurants and bars close by, and a short walk/bus ride away from the Old Town. The view of the sea and pool from our balcony was magnificent, sunsets were very special. There were great options for breakfast and staff were friendly. Loved the saltwater pool and lots of areas to sunbathe. It was our first time in Madeira and we both said we would return and happily would stay at the Pestana Carlton again.

    What a wonderful little gem in central Funchal. Only stayed one night due to flight disruption but would happily go back. Staff are beyond helpful and so friendly (unlike one other hotel we stayed in). Room was gorgeous, air conditioning a bonus. Loved the free Madeira and chocolates, a generous touch. Despite it being on a side street I had the best sleep of our entire time on Madeira. The breakfast basket was delicious and unexpected.

    Hugo was an absolutely amazing host. He gave us a detailed introduction to Funchal and even provided us with a selfmade map of Madeira that included all of his tipps and recommendations. He was super helpful throughout our stay and kept informing us about cool event around the islands throughout our stay. We loved staying at the apartment. Modern, clean and in a perfect location for us… we could do everything by foot.

    A quirky little hotel right in the centre of Funchal. Perfect for a city break. just a few minutes walk to centre but so quiet. Nice little room overlooking courtyard. Great rooftop terrace with pool and views of the city. Breakfast excellent and all staff very friendly.Definitely stay again on our next visit to Madeira.
