A big garden, big room, the host Tula. We just loved our stay in Ollantaytambo and in Samanapaq. So did our kids. We only had a short stay before our trip to Machu Picchu, but we were very satisfied. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had comfortable beds. Friendly service at reception, and we appreciated the breakfast box for our early departure. It was also conveniently close to the train station. No complaints—we’d be happy to return!

    Awesome characterful town well worth an overnight stay. We would love to return. The archeological site is stunning but don’t forget to spend some time exploring Pinkuylluma. The hike is steep and challenging but short and so worth it.

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your...

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. Following by this, go back to Cusco for your stay and fly back. This was a good way we thought to beat the potential high altitude sickness.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself. It can also be used as a starting point to visit Machu Picchu and other interesting archeological sites around. It's about 2 hours from Cusco by taxy.

    A delightful small town set in dramatic scenery. A bustling town square and a quieter and interesting old quarter with a variety of bars and restaurants The two sets of ruins either side of town are worth a visit for the views.

    If going to Machu Picchu or hiking the inca trail, it's better to stay in Ollantaytambo than Cusco. Otherwise you have a 2 hour bus drive to Ollantaytambo anyway to catch the train. Cute old Incan town with amazing ruins.

    Just an amazing place.

    Just an amazing place. We loved it so much we were afraid Cuzco wouldn’t measure up (but it did). Great place to acclimate for the higher altitude of Cuzco. There is a free hike up the mountain, the square is a great place to relax and people watch, the people are friendly.

    Great place for short stay on the way to Machu Pichu. The room was big, clean, very comfortable, and huge bed. Nice owners. Panoramic views from the room. We set off early, so owners have us some quick food (e.g. fruits and yoghurt as we were not able to attend breakfast. Ollantaytambo site 10-15 min walk, train station 20 min walk, so easy to reach these places by foot. Central plaza with cafes and shops also on the way to Ollantaytambo site probably 10 min walk from hotel. Highly recommend for stay in Ollantaytambo.

    Hotel location is pretty close to everywhere, close to Peru Rail/Inka Rail station and Ollantaytambo Fortress, also to Plaza de Armas,. You can do all in walking distance. Bedroom is nice and clean, facing Ollantaytambo river and fortress. Beds are comfortable and shower with hot water and high pressure. Mr.Derek is very nice, provided us many information of what we needed to know, also helping us to enter Ollantaytambo when we came back from Machu Picchu. Thanks Mr.Derek...

    Loved the location and facilities here. The staff were super helpful, especially when we needed a taxi to get from the hotel to Ollantaytambo station and there was a landslide - we got to the station with time to spare. Great games and activities in the shared spaces too.
