Another great stay at this hotel. We love staying here cause its close to our favorite noodle restaurant on Vivian Street and just a stroll to Cuba Street and to some great bars! This hotel franchise has everything that you may need, to have a comfortable stay whether it would be for 1 night or more. The thing I love about these suites is that it has a dryer and washer. I always do our washing before we travel. It maybe small for some but I love the convenience of being able to do my laundry 🙃 😅 😌 🙂 😄

Wild and Wonderful Welly

Acclaimed for its thriving art, film and cultural scene, windy ‘Welly’ is enclosed by mountains such as Kaukau and Victoria on one side and the picturesque Wellington Harbour on the other. Wellington has the distinction of being the world’s southernmost capital city.

As the gateway to New Zealand’s magical south island, Queens Wharf is headquarters for ferry services across Cook Strait as well as in the direction of Eastbourne on the other side of the harbour.

Get your bearings by using the Kelburn cable car that starts at Lambton Quay and travels up to the Botanic Gardens and Carter Observatory with its sweeping views across the Miramar Peninsula and local bays.

Don’t miss a visit to New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa, which also incorporates the National Art Gallery. Cuba Street offers a multicultural touch and includes the Wellington Night Market with an array of international cuisines. Ascot Street is a lively shopping precinct.

I was catching up with friends and family so that was my focus on this trip. Wellington does have brilliant cafes, restaurants and attractions such as the Cable Car, Te Papa, Mt Victoria lookout etc. Parking in the city is expensive so look into parking apps as they can save you lots of money. The Wakefield Market on a Sunday is worth going to but parking can be challenging if you go later in the day.

There are lots of great sites such as the Museum within a relatively confined space. Good public transport is available. There are lots of good restaurants and cafes. In summer, the beaches and coastal areas are lovely and very accessible. Its worth visiting other suburbs such as the Hutt Valley, Porirua, Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa, also with good museums, beaches, eateries.

Our Capital city is a vibrant and fascinating city.

Our Capital city is a vibrant and fascinating city. Love the restaurant/cafe/bar life - what a buzz. And all within walking distance of most hotels. Ate at Ortega - wonderful fish on menu - and friendly efficient staff. Excellent evening. Actually we are not young - my husband is 5 months away from hitting 80 and I'm a year behind him. We are however, young at heart.

We used Uber for all our inner city trips, it was so easy to get around. The 3 hour bus tour of the city was a highlight, the guide Hamish was excellent. We ate dinner at Grazie Italiano at Double Tree By Hilton, it was superb, food, service, the whole nine yards. Te Papa was good but The Gallipoli exhibit was closed as was the cable car both of which we would have loved to visit.

Having stayed at Citylife before many times I love the apartment style accommodation for my family. The kitchen is user friendly. The rooms are good. Beds comfortable. Location is superb and so easy to get around Wellington. Having a washer and dryer in the apartments are awesome for a family! Perhaps from a sales point of view your staff could also upsell the 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms to customers who are willing and wanting to pay a bit more at check in for the convenience of having 2 bathrooms.

Realy clean and well presented room. Even though it was the cheapest room on offer it provided everything we required. The location of the hotel was also excellent for our requirements; on the very edge of town with tracks into the wonderful Wellington Bush whilst only 5 minutes walk from Lambton Quay and all the city of Wellington has to offer. On arrival our we were met by friendly and personable staff who checked our requirements as we were checking in.

Brilliant location in the buzzing part of Wellington. Local bars and restaurants on your doorstep. For the centre of a major city, the room was a very good size and the bathroom was great too. It is a very quirky hotel which we both very much enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
