The hosts (Graeme and Deborah) go above and beyond with making your stay memorable. We had a freshly baked chocolate cake, fresh goodies from their garden, in addition to a well stocked supply of breakfast items. We woke up one morning listening to the magpies (birds) singing and the dairy cows next door right up against the fence within arms reach, ending the day watching and hearing the kākās (parrots) flying overhead - making us feel like it was a farm stay. An easy 30 minute drive to Hobbiton and 1hr to Waitomo Caves, plus an enjoyable short walk to riverside trails and suspension bridge make this an ideal location.

We got in late, and the room had been heated up for our stay it was lovely. The lady was lovely, and it felt very much like home

This hotel has a special factor in that it has a natural thermal spa in its garden! What a delight to be able to try out the 3 ponds next to the river, where we saw a visiting seal. All the meals we had were exceptional value and quality abs the staff were warm and welcoming.

We found the house very welcoming and we were positively surprised by the fresh bread we found on the kitchen table. The house was big and clean surrounded by cozy and calm garden, and we found all needed for cooking as well as privacy:)

Tracy is undeniably one of the most warmhearted Hosts I’ve ever encountered. Her endearing hospitality made me feel welcomed and comfortable from the very moment I arrived. She eagerly offered assistance and guidance for local attractions, ensuring that I made the most of my stay. The room itself was cozy and inviting, with all the necessary amenities to provide a relaxing stay. The decor was well-thought-out, and the overall atmosphere made me feel right at home. It was evident that Tracy took great care to ensure every aspect of the guest experience was top-notch. Additionally, the breakfast was both delicious and abundant, serving as the perfect start to my day. Tracy ensured that the menu included a variety of options to cater to different dietary preferences, which I greatly appreciated. Her attention to detail showcased her dedication to providing guests with an extraordinary stay. We absolutely loved the teams service, the facilities it came with, the area the beautiful chickens. We loved that they had a list to help us start the fire as we weren’t educated on that, definitely loved the area so quiet and nurturing. I would definitely recommend for a family or even just a couple to getaway. The price is definitely worth it in many ways in my opinion it should be charged more for the stay.
