It is less filled with tourists than Kathmandu or Thamel and seems to me more authentic. The Durbar square is amazing, as well as the small local temples and stupas. You can find delicious food everywhere, whatever you want, and people are very nice. Of the 3 medieval Durbar Squares I visited (Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur), I was most impressed by Patan's. Maybe because it was so easily accessible to my lodging (I was able to walk there twice), and the smallest of the three; or very possibly due to its being my introduction to the stunning architecture of the Newar culture and the history of Hinduism & Buddhism in Nepal. I recommend a full day to see the temples and do the museum justice; a guide is definitely a plus, to get the most out of your visit.Guest review byLesley - 10.0

A stone's throw away from Patan Darbar Square, it is really located very well. The property was clean, and the hosts were really warm and kind. The manager Ayush went over and above asking his mum to drape sarees on my friend and me. Dinesh, who would open the door for us if we returned after 9.30 PM, never complained - we came back post 10 PM on multiple occasions. Overall, the staff was very sweet, kind and helpful.
