The hotel is located away from the city center but access to public transport was very easy. The room was large and very comfortable. All the personnel was kind and very helpful, they assisted us right away in every request. The breakfast was excellent, all products of high quality, with a chef and assistants always fillng each item. It was a very pleasant stay.

I loved this hotel. I got the code for checking in when I filled out the check in information online. The experience was really enjoyable from start to finish. The hotel is in an excellent location. Literally 2 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station, which is very convenient for further train trips and for flights, because. from the railway station to the airport and back there is an express train Flytoget within 15 minutes, runs every 20 minutes. It costs 25 euros. Just around the corner begins the central pedestrian street of Oslo - Karl Johans gate, connecting Oslo Central Station with the Royal Palace

FAQs about hotels in Oslo

Into the Wild in Oslo

Spreading for hundreds of kilometres from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.

For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular, are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.

From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

Oslo is a calm city- small enough to walk around and lots to see- loved the palace and Munch museum, walking along the river and the saunas We had the brown cheese and some waffles with strawberry puree....we took the boat to the folk museum- we liked the opera house and the nobel peace building- we had lovely fresh food in the street food market and anywhere we ate, but the city is expensive.....

    Oslo is a good idea.

Oslo is a good idea. A few museums (we're italians, so we're well-accustomed), but the town is always a discovery of intelligent and surprising architectural solutions. The sensation of high security is everywhere. Just one criticism: the second airport of the town, the Oslo TRF (Sandefjord Torp airport) is really far away (110km) and transport connections are very bad if your flight is with the SAS airlines.

Oslo was beautiful and so easy to navigate.

Oslo was beautiful and so easy to navigate. One of the best cities I have ever visited. Not too busy. Got to travel to small Oslo islands and explore using the amazing ferry network. Use the Ruter app as it’s so easy to find which transport to use and buy tickets. The seawater pool was a highlight for the family. Would definitely return! Yummy food at Peppes Pizza, Bastard Burger and San Francisco Bread Bowl. The coffee at Kaffebrenneriet Frogner was amazing and the staff were wonderful.

Oslo is a great city to be in.

Oslo is a great city to be in. I have visited many times and while the usual sites are great, I have grown to love the city even more as I discover place further away from the centre. For example, you can absolutely visit the museums on Bygdøy, but there are also lovely beaches and walking trails to discover if you venture a little further. And because public transport is excellent, it's very easy to get around.

We spent 3 nights at this fantastic hotel. The room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a great location enabling you to walk easily to the harbour, train station and city centre. The district that the hotel was in (barcode district) was quiet and felt very safe. The service at this hotel was excellent and everyone was very friendly and helpful. There was a huge choice for breakfast each day included in our price. All in all a great stay!

Hotel is perfectly located closed to most sites in the city center. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is really good. We stayed in a family room which felt cosy. We spent 3 consecutive stays while travelling to different places in Norway. While it is was a gamble at the beginning, we were quite happy to return to the Karl Johan hotel, location, have our best breakfasts out of 4 hotels we experienced in Norway.
