The Hague was a big surprise, as the prices for hotels and...
The Hague was a big surprise, as the prices for hotels and food was less expensive that in Amsterdam. We did travel to other places like Delft, Rotterdam, Leiden from here as the train system is the best, fast, cheap and reliable to the minute. Not as many tourists as in Amsterdam and we loved the 2 hrs free tour of the city [you just tip at the end] from a very knowledgeable young man that made it very interesting. Unfortunately we didn't see the king or queen. I found The Hague exemplary in many aspects like cleanliness, cordiality, with many friendly people lovers of their beer. A vibrant place, full of shops, restaurants of every cuisine, drinking establishments and, of course, interesting museums. A city walking tour is recommended to learn about some background facts. The Binnenhof is undergoing major works for the next few years, I understand, so is boarded off with no public access. You can climb a yellow metal staircase to a platform that has been temporarily constructed for good views of the city and over the Binnenhof. Nice small walking city , life moves at a more relaxed pace compared to Amsterdam. Nice parks and Museums with alot to offer. The Escher Museum was one of our highlights. And we also went out to Scheveningen beach which is about 20 minutes on the tram .Guest review byJoanneIreland - 10.0
This was my third time in The Hague.
This was my third time in The Hague. I’m not usually a big fan of large cities, but there’s something about The Hague that I really love. Its seaside atmosphere, excellent cycling infrastructure, beautiful architecture, and great museums make you want to come back — and that’s exactly what I keep doing. The highlight for me is always the Mauritshuis, especially the stunning Vermeer paintings, with Girl with a Pearl Earring stealing the show every time.Guest review byMarcinPoland - 8.0

There are many museums and galleries to see and if your hotel is central they are all within walking distance. Lots of good restaurants and the city is clean and very pleasant to walk around. Because of the rain, Cristina gave us two raincoats for free. The location is the best. The study and work space as well as the leisure area can be easily found and used for free. Because of this fabulous space and Cristina, we stayed in the Hague and of course this hotel one more night. Btw, I love the chess games. The location is very near to public transport which takes you in no time to the city center. Also, the beach was only 10 mins drive away by car and 25 mins by tram.
