Perlis is so underrated, it is clean and roads are well maintained, way too nice compared to other West Malaysian state. I would love to come back again to Perlis. The cleanest state in Malaysia thus far. Every house and every commercial entity has a green bin. Hardly see litter strewn about. A very green state with lots of nature to go to. Enjoy the long drives into hills. But do check ahead when visiting places of interests as they may be closed. We had the thrill of just driving up to the Thai borders. The Wang Kelian View Point is a MUST - by far the best view. Good choice of food at the jetty for ferry to Langkawi. The area also serves as a gateway to Langkawi and Thailand, making it a strategic stop for travelers. However, the accommodation options could be improved. While there are basic hotels available, upgrading the quality of lodging would enhance the overall experience for visitors. Kuala Perlis is by the Straits of Malacca. It's just a fishing-coastal town. As Langkawi and the Satun Islands become more of a tourist hop, this coastal city has been booming relatively at a constant pace. The number 1 business in the city is of course tourism but its also a gem for Perlis residents to enjoy its diverse array of seafood and sea products. Of course, cities in Perlis are relatively small, neighbourly, and simple but if any of its residents thought of just hanging out, there's just an eighty-minute ferry ride to Langkawi.
