Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful! Everything exceeded our expectations, but what stood out the most was the amazing team. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention goes to the person leading the Temazcal ceremony – it was an unforgettable experience! Words cannot describe how amazing this hostel is! An oasis of tranquility and beauty tucked away from bustling Tulum. I felt calm from the moment I stepped through the door into the gorgeous garden. Alejandra and Fernando were incredible hosts - super accommodating and kind, telling the guests to feel at home, sharing their delicious homemade kombucha (the hibiscus and mint one rocked my world!!!) with us, always available for anyone's needs and also keeping solo travelers like myself company at the bar and in the pool area, all of which was much appreciated and served to make the place feel like a home away from home. The buildings, rooms and facilities were clean, super aesthetic and well designed. And like all the guests have commented - the breakfast is INCREDIBLE. Guests were generally in their mid 20s to mid 30s, mostly couples with a few solo travelers, which was perfect for me as a female solo traveler looking for somewhere quiet and pretty to rest. People gather at the bar to chat but the pool and living room areas are generally quiet so you can choose how social you want to be. Staying at Botanica, and meeting Fernando and Alejandra, was the highlight of my time in Tulum. Thank you so much!

Bardo is… unique… When arriving at night, at the front desk, we could already feel that the atmosphere was different then other places we’ve been too. At the very first step you make your way to your room, you know that you are on a journey. When passing by the pool with all those trees, plants, lights, and decorations it gets clearer why you came here. You can feel the balance and respect that has been put in between the style of the infrastructures and the nature that is surrounding it, making it a place of harmony. Once we’ve arrived at the end of the path to our room, we could only be amazed by the simplicity, authenticity and taste of decoration. We were about to live in connection with Mother Nature. The transformation starts here. Not only the hotel made us feel reconnected to nature but the themazcal made us reconnect to our true selves and we felt more alive. It’s an incredible experience that I recommend to anyone who meditates and is looking for a higher self awareness and spiritual connection. Also the staff made us feel welcomed and took great care of us at anytime and any moment! Special thanks to Jay, Fernando and Shio at the front desk, who were really helpful and devoted when ever we needed help; to Alejandro, Martin, Manual, and Martin for there smiles, positive vibes and sympathique but professional way of being; to Gloria and the massage team who are very professional and caring; to Diego and Claudia, for they’re open hearts, minds, spirits and amazing work; to the cooking staff for there delicious dishes; to the security staff, who made us feel safe; and finally to the cleaning and gardening staff that makes this places magnificent, cared, respected and always tidy. And, of course, a big thanks to all the other staffs part of Bardo that we didn’t mention and made this place possible.     As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be...

    As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. The cenotes in the reason are awesome!

    Tulum is the jungle so go prepared. Repellent and sunscreen. Avoid taxi cabs it’s way too expensive. Opt to rent a car you will see way more of Tulum that way. Make sure to spend time at the cenotes. Avoid August because the seaweed makes the ocean unbearable.

    Once you know the right places to go, where to book...

    Once you know the right places to go, where to book transportation, which tours to take, I’m sure you will have the best experience and you won’t want to leave! The agency @xclusivetravelw helped me with concierge service with no charge, and they recommended the best spots, my camera roll is full of amazing content from Tulum.

    Tulum is a city you'd have to explore more, especially with car access which we didn't have. Things could get expensive fast with the transportation, souvenir shops, and cafes that cater to tourists. I spent $35 USD on brunch, which wasn't a lot or filling at all. Yet you turn the corner, and a birria taqueria fills you up for only $16 USD. Watch your spending.

    Tulum south is good, friendly and helpful people . It didn’t seem right to pay to visit paradise beech. No clear guidelines to visit beeches via resorts. We visited Tulum ruins but very unclear about the genuine ticket office as we were stopped at three places to buy tickets by unofficial representatives.

    It was just not the vibe for us.

    It was just not the vibe for us. As far as a beach location, they are not nice enough to be pristine and visit for the beaches. The hotel zone of Tulum is a packed road by the beach with hotel after hotel and boutique after boutique, and people everywhere. And again, the beach not that nice. The BEST part was the cenotes, and they are everywhere, but expensive to visit and swim in at $40 a pop. We visit Costa Rica a lot, and were hoping for a similar vibe but it was not. It is not lush or tropical, it is a town built up next to a beach, dry and hot and arrid. Casa Altamar, great restaraunt, Tulum Brewery, great restaurant and ceviche is stellar. Aktun Chen cenote is beautiful. Dos Ojos was pricey but the bat cave section was super cool. We also did a "snorkel" trip from Puerto Aventuras, but it was 15 minutes of snorkeling in rough waters, and 1 hour hanging out in the water and drinking. This area and it's activities seem to be ideal for partying, girls trips etc. and not really enjoying the beauty of nature. We are all looking for something different.

    Absolutely loved the property’s jungle vibes and eco-friendly credentials. It is such a special place - feels very boutique and the design is stunning. The pool and cenote was so beautiful and the restaurant was excellent - as were the staff. We personally loved how it was removed from beach as the beach clubs are not our vibe. This was well situated for Tulum town (for incredible tacos and street food - Palma Central for this and live salsa), 20-30min walk away (or the hotel can arrange a taxi).

    This hotel is so amazing!!!! What I liked most about this property is how luxurious and homely it feels. From the moment you arrive the staff are so lovely and attentive the entire time. The place is decorated so beautifully you just want to take photos everywhere you go. The pool in the room is a once in a lifetime experience. The food at the restaurant was perfect and there is a cute boutique at the front. The hotel itself is really perfect and adds to the bohemian experience of being in Tulum.

    The hotel was very nice, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. The only thing that made our evening a little uncomfortable were the mosquitoes, but that's something to be reckoned with in Mexico. The price was higher, but everything is expensive in Tulum and our stay was very nice.
