The location was nice across the road from a quiet beach. It had safe secure parking if you rent a car. It was kept so clean with cleaning ladies every day or two who did a fabulous job. All the staff were very friendly and accomadating and can help you with anything. WiFi was good and worked the whole time we were there. Would recommend this as a great base for exploring the island and keeping costs low by cooking yourself. It's possible to stay their without a car as there's public transport but a car would be better. Not much restaurants nearby you need to walk 20-30 mins for them but that's ok as it's a nice safe walk.

World class service for a fraction of the price. Vishnu the manager and his family as he likes to call them are some of the most amazing people we have ever met. They go above and beyond and leave you wanting to stay longer. From when we arrived to when we left the team were incredibly friendly and helpful whether it was recommendations, being both vegetarian they ensured we had enough options or guidance with parking in the courtyard. The rooms are very spacious and clean, in additional to usual amenities beach towels and anti mosquitoe plugs are also provided. What blew us away was how incredibly special they made our birthdays. We went to extend our special thanks to Manish for his infectious smile and guidance,Shweta for her wonderful recommendations and another smiling face at the front desk. Raj and Roshan for all their help from the messaging via booking.com to day to day help. Noor and Vandana for their creativity with the birthday decorations in the room. Neevan who made us delicious breakfast and catered for our dietary requirements and any special requests including the yummy channa puri for breakfast for my wife. Vishnu himself a very humble manager who takes his time to get to know each of his guests with his hands on management approach. All of the team at Maison du Nord bring something special. Other hotels should learn from such world class service. Thank you all for making our stay so special from the conversations and laughter to the best way to experience this island in paradise. We will miss you, this is not a good bye but a see you soon! If you want to stay at a place where the people go above and beyond to make your holiday memorable then look no further then Maison du Nord a second home away from home.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Mauritius. Spotlessly clean with excellent daily housekeeping, and incredibly friendly, helpful staff. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. The location is great – just a 2-minute walk along the shore to Mont Choisy Beach. It would, of course, be wonderful if the hotel had its own beach, but the property itself is very small, cozy, and intimate. The hotel grounds are beautifully green, and the view from the pool is simply stunning. The only downside was that our room was the closest to the road, so we could hear traffic noise, especially in the mornings when trucks passed by. Apart from that, everything was fantastic – especially the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness, hospitality, and willingness to help from the staff. I, unfortunately, didn’t remember their names, but the lady at the reception and the gentleman who carried our luggage to the room were the best! We met them every day during our week-long stay, and it was always nice to exchange a few words and feel like a truly valued guest. Staff score: 100 out of 100!

    Everybody as a different opinion ,but I am a seasoned...

    Everybody as a different opinion ,but I am a seasoned traveller ,my honest opinion is.you can find cheap accommodation which is the main objective for a budget traveller.The sea is turquoise, the beach ?,is just a beach, all the boats ,in the Bay is not necessarily a nice view. Nothing special and I think people visiting this area this time of year would be bitterly disappointed with the reality of the paradise image they had of Mauritius. It rains a lot,it's not particularly hot or sunny ..but for me it was ok,I was just on a visa run ,nothing else.
