We stayed one night in abimansala resort. It was really a nice experience. They’re a really kind family. The food was really good. The location was beautiful. It’s a nice place to stay. It’s quiet, clean. They gave us some pepper to take back home. It’s near by a river that you can take a bath. It’s really a nice place to be in immersion with nature. We recommend this place.

First of all, the way to get there already starts the feeling of adventure. A 4×4 vehicle picks you up for an off-road experience. When you arrive an intimate and dedicated staff greets you, the hotel manager welcomes you and explains everything that awaits you while the rest make sure your luggage reaches your tent. We stayed in one of the front rooms, and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking out at the mountains. Rawana provided amazing service, very attentive, we had Sri Lankan breakfasts lunches and dinners cooked by his wife which were so delicious- genuinely some of the best food we've had so far. Rawana also took us in his the Tuk Tuk to see the views of lakegala, guided us on a hike to diyakerella Ella falls, and drove us to the sliding rock swimming spot even though it was raining the whole time (4-5h)! Their 3yo son was also very sweet to hang out with. In terms of prices he charged us 10 000 for the Tuk Tuk and guide, and I think we paid 7-8000 for two dinners and a lunch for two. The rooms and shared bathroom were basic, clean and comfortable, the beds are a little hard, and there are no sealed windows (but we didn't have any issues with bugs) but none of that is a problem, it's in the middle of a jungle! Definitely recommend!

We stayed for two nights – and it was simply amazing! High up in the Knuckles, right in the middle of nature, lies this beautiful chalet. It is very clean, perfectly sized, and offers breathtaking views. The whole property is tastefully designed and even has its own garden with vegetables and spices, from which fresh meals are prepared. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome from the very beginning. We received valuable tips and had the chance to exchange thoughts about the surroundings and Sri Lanka in general. One absolute highlight of our stay was the High Knuckles Trek: we hiked for 5–6 hours through the mountains, saw stunning waterfalls, and even spotted a rare Leaf-nosed Lizard – an endemic reptile with a leaf-shaped nose, perfectly camouflaged in the forest. Another fascinating part of the trek was the constantly changing weather: sometimes sunny and clear, then suddenly misty and humid, which gave the landscape an almost mystical atmosphere. Our guide always took great care of us, ensured our safety, and impressed us with his deep knowledge about the flora, fauna, and the region. We are absolutely thrilled with this accommodation and can only highly recommend it – for everyone who wants to experience nature, adventure, and true Sri Lankan hospitality!

Location is awesome. Property is right next to a national park and the views are amazing from the balcony as well as the pool. Food was very fresh and lots of choices. Owners + staff are really friendly, had a great stay at this place. Would definitely recommend!!

Getting there by private car was a challenge, google maps is simply not accurate. Best way is to contact resort before. The team is outstanding, booked only a day before and they managed to make us feel at home. Will come back for sure
