The host was very welcoming and attentive to our requests. The room was very clean including the sheets and towels. As the names says, this villa is located at the edge of the forest in a calm and serene environment which we really loved. Also, it is conveniently located just 10 mins by car from the main sightseeing spots (sacred city) at Anuradhapura. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing and cozy stay.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see a giant squirrel close up. We took some fantastic photos. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It was close to the sacred city. I learned to cook seven delicious Sri Lankan dishes during the cooking class. Highly recommended. .

Great value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable beds. The family running the hostel were lovely and very helpful. Greeted us with a welcome cup of tea on arrival and organised a tuk tuk tour to see the ancient city. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Very nice location. We had a room for 3people, with 2big size and comfortable beds. Our room was looking to the lagoon the hotel has in front. So waking up to that view you didn’t feel like you were in a big city as Anuradhapura is. Milan and his family are very welcoming and kind. Always smiling, helping and accomodating in everything possible. They make your stay a beautiful one. Breakfast is made fresh every morning and different everyday, so you can try typical Sri Lankan breakfast dishes. Rooms are good, not the fanciest but bathrooms have been recently renovated, showers are really good (lots of water pressure) and you have really good A/C and also a powerful and silent fan. Rooms also have mosquitos nets to cover the whole bed, in case you wanna sleep with windows open and enjoy the breeze you get at night. We totally recommend this place as Milan and his family made are stay a very nice one! Thank you for everything!

The view from the room is super beautiful, the vocation is a little bit outside of the city Center what makes it really calm and natural. When I sat on the terrace I saw monkeys and palm trees. The best part of this place is the host family who treated me super kindly and made me part of the family for the time I stayed at their place. The owner of the property took me to a lot of hidden places and when I got hungry he dropped me at a really nice restaurant. I am really grateful I got to know them!

Breakfast was great! This was arranged under a shady 'Arjun Tree' (Kumbuk in Sinhala) in the charming compound filled with bird calls, butterflies right in front of the room. It was so appealing, appetizing, delicious and wholesome. The hospitality of the owners of the Golden Gate Ceylon was great indeed. The place is so quiet, secure and peaceful. You will really feel the tranquil.
