Indika, Dineshi and their children and all of the staff are really what makes places like these so special. We had a wonderful time. The hotel itself is spectacular! The pool refreshing and well designed throughout. The kitchen is excellent and the one time we decided to have dinner in Galle we were left wondering why we didn’t just stay at the hotel to eat the food was that good!

We stayed in the villa at the top, which offered a stunning view thanks to the large panoramic doors and windows. We stayed in Room 19, which turned out to be spacious and cozy. It had all the necessary amenities: air conditioning, a comfortable bed and mattress (just like home), new beautiful and comfortable furniture, nice bathroom with a large shower, a bidet, and a washing machine. We were pleased to have a kitchen, a refrigerator, and household items. The territory is simply magnificent, it was looked after every day, the place is full of beautiful trees where birds sing and build nests. You can see how grows mango, papaya, lime, bamboo, etc. It’s like a paradise. There’s also a pool on the premises. It was nice to dip in and spend time there. Staff:  The first thing that comes to mind about the staff is their smiles and politeness. I thank everyone who works in this place for their kindness and friendliness. Sasini always tried to assist us with any inquiries: helping with little requests, organizing excursions, and you could talk to her about the culture and traditions in Sri Lanka. She was very responsive and kind, even giving me a small gift to remember our stay. Driver Sandaru was always friendly and quickly took us to the necessary places in a tuk-tuk. He recommended visit a turtle hatchery and took us to nice beaches: Dalawela Beach and Jungle Beach, which are not far from the villa. He even gifted us some incense, it was nice. Every 3-4 days, we were offered cleaning, and they vacuumed, changed the sheets, towels, and wiped all surfaces and mirrors. However, you could also request cleaning earlier if needed. Breakfast was included in the price: A buffet was offered mostly local food, but it was always varied. One day my wife mentioned that she likes the Aralia flower, and later the staff presented it to her just like that, it was a very kind and nice gesture.

This is the place where you want to stay while visiting Sri Lanka. You spending your holiday in the history of this country. A spice traders house built in 1860 and completely renovated recently with lots of taste. The rooms, the living and dining areas, garden with the pool, everything is so beautiful and it feels it’s your own private home. Also breakfast and dinner was amazing and very tasty. The manager and all the staff are extremely helpful and super friendly. As it’s just a bit outside of Galle Fort, it’s super calm. But only a short stroll to reach the harbour with the local fisherman and the old town by foot. If not, a Tuk Tuk ride takes 5 minutes. Everything was just perfect.

I had a wonderful stay at Ceagull and after a while it felt like home. The hotel is located just a short walk away from the noisy and busy main road as well as the train tracks and a few minutes walk from Kabalana beach. Still u can reach Ahangama town in a short tuk tuk ride. There is also a small village shop close to it and a few restaraunts. It is a secure, enclosed complex with a nice garden area and all rooms front porches with sitting facilities face to the centered garden. It also nice for family with kids, because they can run around and it is very safe. Rooms are spacious, airy, clean and equipped with all necessary stuff. Shower was big and the water pressure was really good. The hotel also provided a mosquito tent, which I highly appreciated. The breakfast is big and delicious. U are able to choose every evening from a variety of western/salty/sweet and sri lankan options. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful and they always had a smile on their face. Shashini the manager is keeping an eye on everything and u can feel a good team spirit from all the members of the staff. The hospitality of everyone there is just beyond expectations. They also help u arranging scooter rental, airport transfer and will always give advice how to get around.
