The place is fairly convenient. The room is clean and comfortable with all the amenities required for a short stay. Very polite and helpful staff, not to mention that the food is really nice! It comes with a complimentary breakfast but I had my dinner at the hotel as well and it was great.

Very cute guesthouse! We stayed in the “principal’s office” which was a very large private room. Bathroom facilities are shared but very clean and no difficulty with access. Lounge space was nice to hang out in. Staff were excellent- they helped us book a dinner reservation ahead of time which was greatly appreciated. About a 6-7 minute walk away from the main tourist area of Magome.

Beautiful location with very new and well designed facilities. Although we slept in a tent, it was as comfortable as any hotel rooms. If you are walking the Nakasendo, this place is ideal to stay between Nagiso and Nojiri. We woke up, had some breakfast and started walking right away. From the hotel, you can spend a good 3-4 hours in the beautiful woods and villages of Nagano. The owners were very helpful pointing us to the best route to Nojiri and giving us guidance on train schedules etc.

The stay was the highlight of the trip. Please don't think twice while booking this stay. It's just wonderful . We wish we had more time to spend at this wonderful gem of a place. And the host is very kind and helpful too and speaks good English. He even dropped us at magome where we started the trail. He has good collection of music too at his place which we were able to enjoy. We loved everything about this little village and our short stay. My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

Amazing 200 hundrad years old property run by family. Dinner and breakfast were the best we had so far in Japan. They also offered for me a vegeterian option which was great. They offer free shuttle bus to the train station as well as to Nakasandu trail. The room had beautiful garden view. Onsen small and with beautiful view. i highly recommend!
