Stylish modern property with a lovely garden space. Despite the single room being compact, it was so well designed that there was plenty of storage space and room for a large bed. Communication was excellent. As the bistro was not fully functioning during my stay, to compensate they gave me various snacks and drinks for free including a welcome cocktail! On top of that they discounted the final bill. In short, they did everything to make me feel welcome.

A Capital of Design and Style

Renowned as the world’s fashion and design capital, Milan is never short on places to see and things to experience. The stunning architecture of the Duomo di Milano and the famous La Scala theatre are just a few of the city’s breath-taking attractions. For a more intimate adventure, the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” lets you view a masterpiece from Italy’s past.

Visit the FieraMilano and Salone del Mobile, among the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and design fairs or have a stroll in the Quadrilatero Della Moda district to admire unique creations from the most famous Italian fashion brands: Gucci, Versace, Armani, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana.

The Navigli and Porta Romana districts are famed for restaurants and bars serving delicious Lombard cuisine and the very popular aperitivo. Make sure you try sweet delicacies at the chic Caffé Cova, founded in 1817, or another historical café, Zucca, in the Galleria.

    The Duoma Cathedral was magnificent.

The Duoma Cathedral was magnificent. It blew my mind walking on the roof. The Last Supper was a wow moment. Luckily we had booked the tickes as they are only on sale every 3 months. The shopping centre in Duoma is architecturally a stunning building. Never mind the actual shops which we couldn't afford to step into. Lovely vibe to the city. The bus tour we made lots of use of and the Metro excellent for getting round.

Milan is a good place for long weekend city break.

Milan is a good place for long weekend city break. Our stay of 5 nights was probably a little bit too long and 3 or 4 maximum would have been just right. Milan itself is a beautiful city with great architecture. The Duomo di Milan has to be one of the most stunning buildings I have seen. We found people friendly and mostly helpful and if you have a few words or phrases of Italian it helps a lot. The location we stayed in, Navigli, was a pleasure to stay. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable and no more expensive than UK city prices. The most expensive meal we had with wine in a good restaraunt was around E40 a head. but you can easily have a meal for two for that i.e.Pizza/ Pasta etc. and I am sure you could also find somewhere a lot more expensive. The choice is yours. Would I go back? Yes I probably would but not for a while. There are other places to see after all.

I enjoyed my stay in Milan, although it was very short (one night). I have heard mixed opinions, but each to their own, my experience of the city has been positive. Very much can recommend visiting the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, and if you get tickets with an audio guide, do bring your own headphones (I forgot mine and to listen to the recording very quietly through my phone speaker). The art is incredible, and it was not crowded at the time of my visit (Sunday). I didn't bother going inside of the cathedral Duomo di Milano; I know it's a big attraction in the city, but it is very crowded and in my experience it did not allow for the intimacy and personal time with the art such that the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana did. Food-wise, I can recommend the massive food court at Milano Centrale, but honestly, it is Italy, wherever you go there is good food to be had. Oh yes, and ride old-style trams with wooden benches, they are stunningly well kept!

The breakfast was great: Scrambled eggs was the only thing that was "missing" from a typical breakfast but everything else was there, the pastry was very tasty! The room was very spacious with a great view at Porta Volta. The hotel was from a walking distance (30' max) from Duomo and Castello Sforzesco, it's very close to city centre. Don't forget to visit the Cimitero Monumentale di Milano north of the hotel, 5min walking distance, always with respect to the place and the locals.

as milan is such a huge and scattered city it takes you up to 30min to get to the city centre, although the hotel seems to be central. but because of good availability of public transport next to the hotel, it’s totally fine. also, there is a nice neighbourhood if you are walking a bit. nice furniture, huge and comfortable bed

The location is great with cafes, restaurants, tram and metro all handy to the hotel. The room was comfortable and functional. Shower pressure was great. Porta Roma is a nice quiet area of Milan where there are more locals than tourists. It's only 3 metro stops to the Duomo and city centre which was a bonus.
