It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.Guest review byLouiseAustralia - 10.0

Harrys Bar is a must-do for dinner and easy access for boats to Como and up the lake but options are a bit restricted as the Hotel Miralago is currently closed. It is still a delightful place to stay and you can even drive to St Moritz in c3 hours each way. We attended a wedding between Como town and Cernobbio and made a decision to stay in Cernobbio and what a great call that was - stunning small town with incredible lakeside viewpoints, easy roads for driving, lovely restaurants and cafes. Much less touristic than Como and cuter in all ways while being a short drive or water taxi away. Beautiful and peaceful city.
Beautiful and peaceful city. Pictures main square, with an interesting local market. Nice bars and restaurants near the coast. There is also a small port where it's possible to take a boat to explore Lake Como. Cernobbio is a lovely location, quieter than Como and other...
Cernobbio is a lovely location, quieter than Como and other tourist "honey pots" but with enough to make it a good base to see the lake and its towns and villages. We enjoy walking and staying in Cernobbio was very relaxing and charming. The restaurants were plentiful, with many available outside seating. The lake is beautiful and serene, and we enjoyed a ferry ride around parts of the lake. The wind was troubling on the day of the wedding ie. glasses whisked off their tables, music, and camera blown over)...We stayed 4 nights and would certainly return to Cernobbio in the future! The C-10 bus at 2:30 and 3:30 pm were over-packed. I would not try this again.Guest review byMaud

Cernobbio is much more quaint and calm than Como, yet close enough to explore everything and the hotel is right by the ferry pier. The view is amazing, definitely pay for a room with a view if you are staying here, although you couldn't see the view from our bed which would have been lovely. The balcony was a real bonus. The neighborhood is pretty and not too crowded, you also can find a lot of cafe and restaurant around. The apartment was clean, comfy, and full with all the nececities.
