We were on a 2-week trip in Iceland for my hubby's 50th birthday and this was his favourite place. I don't think they knew it was his birthday but they treated us better than anywhere else. It is an impeccably-furnished, totally gorgeous historical guesthouse with wonderful staff, food and warmth. Our room was small but perfect and breakfast was delicious. The town itself is really lovely. Make sure you pre-book Sjavarpakkhusid (kind of opposite) restaurant for dinner - it was also glorious (see photos). Thanks for making this such a special stop on our Icelandic journey!

Location was great, in the center with eateries, a Bonus grocery store and petrol pumps within 5 minutes of the hotel. Room was clean, cosy and well heated and toiletries provided. Additional small touches like chocolates and a ‘comfort kit’ were a bonus. The buffet breakfast was tasty with a lot of variety (including fruits and hard-boiled eggs) and always replenished immediately! Although there wasn’t a shared kitchen to use, guests could use the breakfast area to heat food (we bought pre-packed food from Bonus) in the microwave and make a hot drink (various types of tea, coffee and hot chocolate) using the kettle provided. All these complimentary items were always well stocked. Philipp, the staff, was exceptional! Always friendly, pleasant, helpful and approachable. It was lovely interacting with him and exchanging ideas. Helped us a lot with tips on driving around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. If you are looking for a place to stay in Stykkishólmur, this is it. Excellent quality price ratio! Stykkishólmur is a quaint town well worth exploring. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and of course, the-ever- helpful staff! 😊

Among all the reviews, when it comes to this apartment, I must first mention the warm-hearted hosts, who made us feel the warmth of home during our journey. Not only that, but the interior design of this apartment is undoubtedly one of the most thoughtful among the many apartments and hotels we have stayed in. The property was amazing, such a lovely modern, well-equipped villa, literally in the middle of nowhere, yet just a ~30 min drive from the closest town! It's rare to say this on Booking, but in reality it is better than what you see on the photos. 10 of us stayed there for 2 nights. Super easy to communicate with the hosts and to get in - there is a lockbox at the door. The villa was squeaky clean, the rooms and beds super comfortable and the kitchen is impeccably equipped with everything you don't even know you might need. The highlight, of course, is the outdoor hot tub, which can comfortably fit 12 people. Watching the northern lights from there was quite literally a life-changing experience. The hosts were super nice and easy to communicate with, also shared with us a a super helpful information pack about the area and what we can do while we are there. 11/10 would recommend!

Amazing loft and very nicely decorated apartment. We cooked very nice dinner with gas stove in a spacious kitchen. Location is nice with only short walk from the harbour and the restaurants. Bedrooms were nicely dimmed and nightlessnight was not a problem. Highly recommended to stay in here!!
