The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.Guest review byMichael - 10.0
This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!Guest review byLori - 10.0
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town.
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.Guest review byKaraCanada - 10.0

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall...
The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. The Westfjords is one of our favourite places in Iceland and it's a shame we only stayed for 2 nights. The house has a rich history, although we were very much surprised by the eclectic theme of the house. It feels wonderful to be greeted by towering cliffs after stepping out of the house.
