Excellent choice considering location - host was polite, rooms very clean (to be honest, one of the cleanest places I have been), well equipped kithecn and spacious bedroom for 4 people. Breakfast was simple, but fulfilling. Would defenitely recommend to spend your night or two there while heading to East Iceland.

The family-owned Stafafell Cottages is located on a sheep farm in the countryside, 30 km from Höfn village. Each cottage has well-equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with shower.

The location, perfect for seeing (or trying to see) the northern lights. It's very close to the village of Hofn (12 minute drive) and about an hour drive from Jokulsarlon glacier lake. Very friendly staff, great breakfast, amazing views. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities needed.

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull.

We had a lovely one-night stay at Sauðanes Guesthouse during our road trip around Iceland. The location is serene, with breathtaking sea and mountain views right from the balcony—perfect for a quiet and relaxing evening. I only spent one night at Birkifell and in all honesty it was not enough. Birkifell is 100% pure charm and comfort. The cabin is small but comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was pretty much perfect. Coffee machine with coffee, stovetop, oven and microwave, fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery and cookware. The beds are so comfortable and warm. I slept amazingly well. And now what is truly wow. Hot tub on the verandah with clear, unobstructed views of the sky which was crystal clear. The hot tub was hot, comfortable and clean. The only sound to be heard was me. I have never experienced such quiet and stillness before. It was invigorating. I was sad to have to leave Birkifell but when I come back to Iceland, Birkifell will be my must stay again. I love everything about Birkifell.

Anna met us to handover the key even though it was quite late in the evening. She was willing to help with anything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage is spacious and very thoughtfully built in a fantastic location. Kitchen is well stocked and there's a BBQ grill in the front deck! There's amazing views of the mountains and glaciers and there're horses in the field nearby.
