We enjoyed the cabin we stayed in. The bedding was very nice and the kitchen perfectly stocked with dishes. The playground was fun. The office sells some camping supplies. Hofn is great, quiet and cosy, but I believe that staying in the nearby villages is even more comfy. The town has a few great restaurants, a really wonderful little pool with hot tubs. We loved this town and wish we had been able to stay 2 nights! It was rainy and foggy during our stay so could not really see the full beauty of it. We went to the tourist information center and were greeted by a very helpful women. We booked a family room and the space is alright and the facilities is just acceptable. The cabins were constructed next to a some kind of a truck workshop and the reception is 1km away. And also the way the hotel is situated in nature is amazing. A great view upon the mountains, that's even more beautiful with sunrise and sunset! The owners were very friendly and always in for a chat, and even some sightseeing and aurora advice. Bonus for Dutch travelers: the owner also speaks a good amount of Dutch! The location was in a quiet area very close to the sea with an attractive mountain backdrop. There was a viking replica village on the site. A car would be needed to get there. The main accommodation is in a separate building to the cafe and has a small number of bedrooms. The room was very modern and clean with good heating and a good bathroom.
