"We had a wonderful stay at Cliff Vista by Saash Hotels, Varkala. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the rooms were very comfortable and well-maintained. Ample parking is available on the property, which is a big plus. The beach is just about 1 km away, easily accessible by bike or a short drive. The location is peaceful, perfect for couples, families, or groups who want a calm and independent space. Highly recommend!"

We had a wonderful stay at Flower Hill Cottage. The room exceeded our expectations, with a super comfortable bed, a fantastic bathroom featuring a double shower and rainwater head, and excellent water pressure. There were even many options for lighting the room from led strips, spotlights and lamps. There was plenty of storage for clothes and toiletries, and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the beach from our balcony, though the heat kept us from spending too much time out there. The air conditioning was much appreciated. Our host, Abhilash, ensured we had a hearty breakfast and everything we needed. The staff on the grounds were also very friendly and accomodating. The newly renovated cottage is located a little further from the shops and restaurants, making it wonderfully quiet, yet a short 10-minute walk along the coastline takes you to many cafes, restaurants, and gift shops. We had a great stay and wished we could have stayed longer—next time! :)

Excellent place for a quick gateway from city life. Calm and pleasant stay. This is run by a mother daughter duo and they are excellent hosts Neat clean and gives a Balinese vibe with all the rice fields and interior design. I'd say a perfect 10

It was a nice place to stay and experience Kerla came with family and didn't want to leave. The hotel Manager is very accommodating and friendly along with the staff. Highly recommend.

Tiny Temple is a rare gem set back from a quiet section of 'the strip' close to Black Beach. Swati, the host, couldn't be sweeter. He was really helpful and made us feel completely at home. The location and view from the rooftop/deck is unbeatable and the price was totally reasonable (we were there just before 'high' season). New Wifi is being installed which will be the cherry on top! Another perk was the fine folks at Elina's Clifftop Restraunt (next door) who were really accommodating and even offered room/rooftop service. My daughter and I took a risk on a spot without reviews and in this case we're so glad we did. Can't recommend it highly enough.

    It is a beautiful place with plenty of beaches, greenery, small town shops, water sports and the most beautiful mangroves. There are also nice places like the Jatayu Park and the Shri Narayana Guru Samadhi and ancient temples that are a treat to visit.

    Beautiful views worth seeing.

    Beautiful views worth seeing. However most visitors are rowdy which affects the comfort of people seeking a more down to earth experience. Restaurants often out price locals and cater to Western tastes; they seek a specific type of well put together, middle or upper class traveller. Monsoon season is likely a more relaxing time to be here with less rowdy visitors from out of town/state. Little cleanup efforts for the beaches. Bad sanitation and waste control. Waste burning unfortunately normalised.

    The beach was awesome, the water temperature and calmness of the sea making it perfect for swimming. Varkala itself had plenty of options for eating at any budget level and the people were friendly, helpful and generally very honest in their dealings with tourists. The temple was especially interesting for us and was mostly open to non-hindus to walk around its grounds.

    Large beach with fabulous turquoise sea and big waves with some sun beds down one end if wanted . Lovely views and sunsets. Busy lively area ( we were there just after Xmas/ new year ) with many restaurants and shops along the cliff side. No beach hawkers on beach which made a change . Not really suitable for young children or people with mobility issues as big waves and steep steps to beach . We ate at costa del mer which had good European food if you feel like a change from the standard Indian food and was really excellent for breakfast as well as other meals . There are also cheaper good more traditional Indian restaurants just off the main drag . Roof top sky bar great for sundowners overlooking beach .

    North cliff is a perfect place to stay in Varkala as it has lots of good cafés, cliff and a beach. Music goes on till midnight during the weekend. Also, do cover Munroe Island a peaceful boat ride in mangrove forest.

    Quaint space away from all the hustle and bustle of Varkala. Located on top of the south cliff, the view from the place is unreal. The host will go all the way to help you make your stay as comfortable as possible. Try and book this place for at an extra day and just spend your time lazing around. There's a cafe nearby if you're looking for a quick bite. The South cliff and the beach below is so peaceful that you wouldn't wanna visit the north cliff except for food.

    Lovely location right on the beach, perfect for sunsets. Not so many people around as the Cliffs areas, which are a 20 minute walk along the beach (bring a torch as it is not well lit). Breakfast was decent. Friendly staff. Arranged us transfers that went perfectly at a good price. Bed was comfortable. It was clean. Excellent value overall. Room door was cool with an ornate lockable bolt, writing this from a 5 star hotel that has a fake version of the same.

    The person managing it was very polite, and the ambience of the place was also very pleasant. It’s just 5 minutes away from North Cliff. The rooms and beds were comfortable, with hot water facilities available. They also have a play area and a large dining space. This is the best and most budget-friendly place to stay in Varkala if you're going on a trip with friends.
