A great experience from start to finish. We had a great scenic drive from Chandigarh to arrive at a beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff are all so wonderful and helpful , nothing is a bother and they truly put the the well being and comfort of customers as top priority. We talked to the GM , Sumit , and his philosophy on customer care was totally taken onboard by his staff , and in fact the staff were actually singing his praises of how much he cared for them as well. The food and beverages manager Rajreise was just such a great guy and lavished so much care and attention not only on our dining experience but also any other needs to make our vacation an experience. All staff were excellent but the girls in the dining area really made us felt welcome and at home, Aarushi and Aakansha were fantastic, they were management trainees but with their approach and attention to customers, they will surely go far within the hospitality industry . All in all , an experience of a lifetime which has made us wanting to visit more Oberoi hotels worldwide and have many more. I would just like to give a big thanks to Sumit and his great team for giving my wife and I such a wonderful time.

    Popular Hill Station, Everything is over priced specially Taxi service. Lack of good public transport. Food was good quality and price vary place to place, close to Mall road everything is expensive with low quality. Hard to move around for non-local as public infra is in bad conditions in most of the places. Taxi, hotel and tour guys have fixed few places to mark them as tourist spots, but all of them are not worth of money a person spends, there could be more better places to visit. like water catchment wildlife sanctuary, Bird Park etc but Taxi guys gives false reasons not to got there. Apart from historic places , everything else could be found in any mid-to-big city for activities.

    Shimla always embraces me each time.

    Shimla always embraces me each time. I have been visiting since 1962 as a student; I studied in Simla Hills, and since then, I've been staying in Oberoi properties, both Cisil and Clarks. One thing I like about Oberoi is its reputation and the care it takes of you. You don't have to think back, and I have never had any problem since the time I've been patronising Oberoi, wherever, whichever town Oberoi properties are in. This is my first choice.

    Mall road I liked the most. Army museum was good. I did not like kufri, In jakhu temple, Beware of monkeys. Food at Mall road was good. Adventure Park at kufri is good. Indian institute of advanced studies is good.

    Shimla is a fabulous place to visit, it is colourful and vibrant, full of history. It is fascinating how the local people live on such steep slopes.The local markets and shops are great. Shimla is the stepping stone to take you into the mountains, villages and temples. The local Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) tourist office is excellent and helped us plan our 5 day trip up into the mountain, booking us excellent accommodation in great spots.

    Not for the feint hearted.

    Not for the feint hearted. A lot of walking up and down very steep hills. The views are amazing on a clear day. The Shimla to Kalka train is a must. Get up to the Hanuman Temple and Statue for the views. Beware of the monkeys. They steal glasses, mobile phones and anything else they can get hold of to exchange back for food. Best breakfast is at the Indian Coffee House. Lunch, have a Dal Makhani and Roti in any small local eatery. We enjoyed the Kebab Platter and veg fried rice at the Ashiana Restaurant in the old bandstand.

    Totally loved the place. NOT far from Mall Road Lift . Can easily get public transportation to move to and fro from hotel to mall road. Will advise you to walk to hotel instead of using any vehicle , will totally love the view around. And opt for room with the view , You will enjoy every second of shimla even from the room. HOTEL staff was very corporative and helped me.

    This is a fantastic hotel situated less than 5 minutes walk from Mall Road! The rooms are spacious and clean with lovely hot showers. The front rooms have the most beautiful views of the himalayas. All the staff were polite, patient, kind, and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely return!
