I really want to return to Padum and stay at Rate Guru View Homestay again. Very delicious breakfasts and dinners, spacious rooms, hot water, internet—everything you need to recharge before trekking in the mountains. Most importantly, the very responsive hosts helped us with all our questions. I highly recommend Rate Guru View Homestay if you are planning a trip to Zanskar. I wholeheartedly give it a 10 out of 10!

The guesthouse is some 5 minutes away from the market street and just right by the Padum Palace. It looks like it's still in construction but the rooms are all ready and there's a separate dining room, I have special praise for the owner who goes out of his way to make the travellers happy. I was even offered a scooter/bike ride around the city for the price of the petrol. Couldn't take it since I got a driver ...
