The owner was very helpful as were the staff. The rooms are big and the beds comfortable. The property has good views of the local area and different outdoor spaces to enjoy. Overall, alongside the wildlife seen and the proximity to Assamese villages, it was a great stay.

From the bus station to the guesthouse it was a 5 minutes walk. The guesthouse is in a quiet and peaceful street with very friendly neighbours. In the night you hear all kinds of jungle sounds and you see fire flys. Beautiful! It was my favorite homestay in Assam, so far. The guesthouse is also very close to the central entrance of Kaziranga National Park.

The hotel’s staff (Govin) is very kind, he even picked me up from the bus stop which I did not expect! And he took me around the area after check-in, showing me the villages and tea gardens before dropping me at the Orchid park. Food was good and affordable. Room is clean with comfortable bed and air conditioning. It’s quiet (was refreshing to be able to sleep without earplugs), location is serene and within walking distance to local market and bus stop, as well as a short 5 minute drive from the Central safari zone.

I had a great stay at Kodom Bari retreat. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. As soon as I arrived I felt relaxed and peaceful. It's a great location on the edge of Kaziranga national park and within walking distance of a friendly local village. Easy access to town via shared taxis frequently passing by the main road - but set back so I didn't hear any traffic noise. The early morning birdsong was delightful. The food was fresh and delicious, the rooms clean and spacious, and it was the most comfortable mattress I've slept on in India - great value for money! As a solo traveller I felt safe and comfortable. I went on a jeep safari and saw a tiger!! I'd highly recommend staying at Kodom Bari Retreat.

A very beautiful place with calm and awesome environment. Greenery all around and very quite. Hotel may be away from the highway, but that is what makes it unique because it has made it a calm and quite place. The staff were very well mannered and cooperative. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the interior was a bit old school type which is very soothing. All the amenities are working fine. Food are reasonable and tasty. Overall a great place to stay.

The location was the best thing about this property. It’s located right on the main highway. The staff and hospitality was excellent. The food at their restaurant was comforting and amazing. The pool had the perfect temperature to dive right in.

Excellent homestay. The 3 brothers Adi, Ritu and Madhu and their 2 small cousins did an outstanding job to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The home cooked breakfast was awesome making us want more. The rooms were clean and good value for money. Would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and acquaintances.

If you're looking for a warm quiet place to stay a few days, away from the hussle at the mainstreet, then you're on the right spot. Prahbat and sundanza just give you a warm welcome and make you feel at home. They invited me to a community party during Bihu, the national festival of Assam. Also an ideal place to wander through the village, surrounded by tea plantations and lush green hills. Definitely to recommend!

    This was a very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. A bit isolated but ready access to central gate entrance to park. Dining space needs to be revamped in line with rest of accommodation. However,provides a great stopover to visit Kaziranga NP and view the one horned rhinos up close

    It’sa new property in the centre of rice fields very serene. The staff were very cordial and accommodating. Rooms were spotless as well as extremely spacious. So were the bathrooms. The manager arranged for our safaris which were cheaper than online.

    A nice place to visit. Great for bird watching, Rhinos, wild buffaloes, elephants and hoolock gibbons. Need to do safaris at various gates Burrapahar range - Hoolock gibbons, western and central for rhinos, wild buffaloes and Agaratoloi range for bird watching

    Our safaris in Kaziranga National Park (morning and afternoon) were outstanding. We saw many rhinos, buffalos, wild elephants, deers, fantastic birds, etc. Kaziranga is one of the most beautiful national parks we have ever seen.

    One horned rhino was the reason to visit Kaziranga and we were able to see rhinos from up close in the elephant safari. The ticket booking is not online and one has to depend on agents. the price of ticket is Rs. 950/- to Rs. 1000/- plus gypsy amt of Rs. 350/- for central zone entry.

    We did the elephant safari twice at two different timings –...

    We did the elephant safari twice at two different timings – 6:15 am and 7:15 am - and both the times we saw rhinos, wild water buffaloes and deer. The accompanying crowd can be noisy and dampen the experience but our elephant rider was excellent the second time, which enhanced the experience. The jeep safari is stellar for bird watching. We spotted a variety of migratory birds and the gorgeous Hornbill. Again, we were travelling in December and peak animal-spotting season is known to be March, so it all depends on patience and how enthusiastic you are about enjoying the wilderness. We stayed at the One Horned Rhino Camp - an excellent rustic, wild experience with bonfire, amazing photography points and barbeque. Visiting the Kaziranga Orchid Park and Bio-diversity Park is amazing, but what tops the experience is eating the large thali inside the park, beginning 12 noon – 18 varieties of local dishes that promises a thali of a lifetime!
