Alwar has extraordinary architectural treasures and is beautifully situated. However like a lot India it does require patience. The main palace which is now government offices is very badly maintained with litter marring much of the cityscape. Alwar is a good place to visit for 2 days trip. U will connect with nature, excellent trip. The only thing is govt have to work make the infrastructure easy for people, the roads needs really work. Google maps said that it would take us 2hours 17 mins to reach Alwar from Gurgaon and that's what it took. The drive down NE4 was smooth like a dream. Alwar has a lot to offer--Arravali hills, ancient forts, a Tiger Reserve and interesting ancient Hindu and Jain temples. The Alwar Palace is also a fine structure reflecting Indo-Islamic architecture. The Forts need better upkeep but nevertheless they are striking. There are several good resorts in Alwar which makes the experience really comfortable. Travel in a good air-conditioned SUV and you have a great experience.Guest review byNeeraIndia - 8.0

its an unexplored gem. Visit the state museum, and lake besides the city palace and then drive up the hill to Bala Qila providing mesmerizing views of the whole area. Buy different varieties of succulent kalakand from Kanhaiya sweets on Manu Marg and eat a sumptuous meal at Fauji Raj Dhaba.
