Israel’s tiny speck of Red Sea is squeezed between Eqypt (Taba) on one side and Jordan (Aqaba) on the other side. Eilat is a resort city for glamorous people lying on the beach and scuba divers under the sea who come together for superb sunsets and long, warm summer nights.
Many tourists use this 7 km stretch of land as a passage to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt or onwards to Petra in Jordan. However, if you stay, this glitzy destination provides relaxation all year round at its numerous luxury hotels and beaches. Coral Beach is the dive centre headquarters with its spectacular coral reefs.
The Tayelet promenade is a place to stroll and search for the perfect restaurant or boutique shop. The southern part of the magnificent Negev Desert can be accessed from Eilat by 4WD tours or bus. This Bedouin territory includes the Great Rift Valley and the Eilat Mountains Nature Reserve.
The sparkling Gulf of Aqaba provides the perfect backdrop for local Israelis and international tourists to party into the wee hours. Festivals such as Red Sea Jazz and Red City during summer help to fuel the busy beach activities.

Elisabeth that welcomed us when we arrived was so considerate and helpful when she found out I had caugth the cold - in 38’ weather. She and the rest of the staff was fantastic. Eilat is not a big city so Stay was close to everything. Breakfast was brought to our table, plentiful and delicious, with a variety of eggs to choose from. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a marina view room that was good sized and well equipped. The restaurant provided very good, fresh meals with a wide and changing variety available. They provided some nice entertainment and some alcohol is also included. Bad view. if you want to be near the bus station going to the crossing boarder to Jordan early in the morning. Just cross the street from the station and you’ll find the hotel.
