The whole stay there was amazing. Very nice host, excellent and fast communication. Everything was super clean, cozy room, comfortable bed, homemade breakfast. The village itself is small, but cozy, good option for staying overnight from/to visiting Slieve League. It would be my choice again. Payment only in cash.

The accommodation is truly incredible, it's one of the best we've had in Ireland. It's spacious and bright, perfect for relaxing in the mountains; everything is brand new and includes very practical amenities like the air fryer.

A stunning view of the ocean from the window, hares running right on the lawn near the house. Quiet and calm. The house is clean, everything is there for living. No oven and washing machine. Keep in mind that the house is divided, the owner lives nearby, but does not interfere at all. I recommend

This is a delightful sanctuary for a solo traveler. Close to the main house yet completely private. Bright and airy and tastefully decorated with a well stocked kitchenette. The owners being so relaxed and friendly make it all the more a home from home and I really enjoyed my stay.

    We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start...

    We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start our trip to Ireland at the foot of the Sleive League! The pub food was terrific and the friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Later in the evenings, musicians spontaneously arrived and started to play together on various instruments. It was better than we had even hoped it could be. The Rusty Mackrel is a very unique B&B and we loved our two day stay. We hope some day to come back again.

    In a spectacular location in south Donegal.

    In a spectacular location in south Donegal. There is an excellent pub, there are shops and other facilities a couple of miles away. Guests should be prepared for wet and windy weather (we were lucky). The main attraction ais Slieve League, The Rusty Mackeral serves good food etc. Other area of Donegal are easily reached ie. Glencolumbkille, Gweebarra, Glengesh, Killybegs and the Blue Stack mountains.

    Best thing is trip up to Sliabh liag cliffs stunning views. Also beautiful beach nearby Silver Strand. Teelin does not have any shops except for a café/gift shop near the visitors Centre and extremely limited accommodation. You can do boat trip and cliffs in one day. Its all about the scenery.

    Lovely wee place in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a tranquil get away. Be sure to climb Slieve League for some stunning views. Lovely waterfalls and beaches in the area but best to go by car. Rusty Mackerel is a must for food, staff very friendly and welcoming
