Incredibly beautiful hotel with wonderful food and amenities. The staff was fantastic throughout our stay. Highly highly recommend the falconry (amazing experience!) and dinner in the Pullman restaurant, which was one of the best meals I've ever had. There was so much to do - we missed out on seeing a movie in the hotel cinema because we just didn't have time, and there were a range of activities we'd love to come back and try. Lovely resort in a lovely part of Ireland.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful (reception, housekeeping, in the bar/breakfast room). Room had everything I needed. Location is just perfect - everything in city centre within strolling distance. Buses within Galway and to Dublin/airport also just around the corner. From the moment l arrived to this beautiful hotel l was blown away, first off all parking right outside and free! The staff at check in were so polite and helpful, they had us checked in within 2 mins. Loads of lifts to your floor/room, the family room we had was spectacular, from the big comfy beds and pillows, the bathroom was perfection, everything you need, towels, face cloths, shampoo, body wash, soap etc it was gleaming, they really do cater for everyone, the heating in the bedroom was so easy to use if your were to warm or cold it’s so easy to adjust. Great big tv to watch numerous Channels. The coffee machine was pure luxury, with coffee pods, milk sugar etc, great variety even decaf and lovely teas. My favourite has be the bar area. Just wow! Loved all the different wee areas you can eat and drink it can be private and also open, take your pic, very reasonable priced menu, it was fab, again catered for everyone, I really enjoyed sampling a couple of times of this. We were very lucky to meet the general manager we guessed he was before he told us as the staff were very attentive to every guest but also the boss lol! Guess what the boss bought us are drinks we had after our meal! A gentleman who after talking a while with him, it was clear to see he’s very passionate about his hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is So close to town, lovely walk in and so many shops on your doorstop, my first time in Galway but not my last, when I’m back l will be booking this amazing hotel! If I could give it 10 stars I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

FAQs about hotels in Galway

Cracking City of Craic

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.

The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly coloured shops and restaurants.

Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which offers an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.

Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.

Booking.com has an excellent range of Galway hotels, apartments and B&Bs to complete your stay.

A vibrant city with beautiful nature, tourist-friendly, and lots of options of one day trips. Try the Baileys coffee, go to the 800-year old pub King’s Head and take the trip to visit the Cliffs of Moher, it’s mindblowing.

We found many old pubs with local musicians playing. A couple of the musicians are paid and the others travel from other parts of Ireland to join in. We hit 3 spots in 1 evening. We didn't need a taxi or bus because this BnB is close enough to town to walk, if your in fair shape. Pulling our luggage up hill on the firt day was a bit like work. I'm 64 and had no problems. Do bring a sturdy umbrella as the winds blow year round and our light brellies blew inside out.. Buying an Aran sweater was one of the highlights of this trip because of the quality knitting and whool and so many style and color options all in one shop. Our best meal in Galway were the mussels at Hooked. They were so scrumptious that we ordered more.

Galway is the cultural capital of Ireland. You haven't seen Ireland if you haven't been to Galway. Excellent starting point for all your adventures on the West Coast. Enjoy the pubs, the music, the craic and above all the friendly locals who always take time for a chat. You can't rush Ireland. Tòg a bòg é! Take it easy!

I was expecting to fall in love with Galway and the west coast of Ireland and I just didn’t. The town was extremely touristy and I vastly overestimated how long to stay there. We were there Monday to Friday but you could do it all in 1 or 2 days. We enjoyed walking along Salthill Promenade and watching people jump off the diving board. Sadly the weather wasn’t beach weather but it was nice to enjoy the sea air. We did Trad on the Prom which while super touristy did showcase some exceptional musicians and dancers. We had dinner one night at BoTown and the cauliflower ribs were the best I’ve ever had. Everyone enjoyed their burgers and fries. We had fish and chips from McDonaghs and their onion rings were to die for!

Galway always has a lovely vibe, with lots to see and do and plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. We were only staying one day but got to walk the town and visit St. Nicholas's Church, the oldest structure in the city at 800 years old. The exhibits in it were great in telling the history of the city albeit in a working church. It's also good to walk along the banks of the River Corrib see the Spanish Arch, Shop St. etc.

Galway is very run down. I went for a walk on salthill prom. The footpath was all cracks. It looked like it hasn't been updated for 30 years. Footpath around the on newcastle road was all cracks also. A lot of derelict buildings. Very disappointed. Why are the council not maintaining the city with the property tax?

The hotel is 3 minutes away from the city center and has a parking lot underneath, which is super useful. The room we got was spacious and the amenities as expected. The stuff was very kind and supportive. The breakfast nook is a bit limited in space and choices, however, you can order a british / irish breakfast a la cart; oddly enough, if you order anything different than a black coffee or tea, you need to pay a supplement. Given that this is a 4* hotel, these types of things should be already included in the package.
