Clifden is a small but mighty town in west of Ireland.
Clifden is a small but mighty town in west of Ireland. Some great pubs with fantastic live music in the evenings and nighttime. Must mention Ravis and Lowrys in particular. Loved the area, views, beaches especially when portable toilets nearby. One beach had sinking sand so unable to walk along the edge due to a shoulder injury. A bit disappointed with the food options. We have a daughter who is gluten, dairy and nut free. Salads were offered and steak, which is expensive. Very upsetting 😡 Overall staff did try their best. Keogh pub was able to provide chips, burger and bacon and cabbage 😋 very bad network in areas. Shops were good. Supervalu had the gf, df options in clifden. Clifden and the surrounding area are beautiful and fascinating, I was happy to return here after a very long time. It's a shame it's so far from Prague, otherwise I would come here all the time ;) The mountains are beautiful here, but unfortunately mountain tourism (as we know it in Central Europe, where even in less frequented mountains you have dozens of marked hiking trails and tourist pubs on the mountaintops) is not very developed here.Guest review byEvaCzech Republic

From the minute we checked in till we left we received absolutely wonderful service. Everyone was so helpful and the food and the room was lovely. The breakfast was a perfect continental spread which exceeded our expectations. I must mention James Joyce the barman who makes the best cosmopolitan cocktail in Ireland. Table service with a good variety of choices all cooked to order. The breakfast room has great sea views that change all year round. The hotel has some beautiful common spaces and the turf fire in the lounge area is very welcoming. Common areas were nicely furnished. The hotel bar is Cosy. The food was amazing, fabulous breakfast would set you right for the day. We ate both nights in Marconi's what can I say about the menu... we were spoilt for choice.
