Loved the drumlin roads, like being on a gentle rollercoaster. Very friendly people. The Cavan County Museum was fascinating, moving, imaginative, comprehensive. One of the best I've seen. The tourist info office was very helpful as was Harold Johnston in Black Lion😊. Although we didn’t explore the hiking and lakes, that will be on my next journey. The Cavan County Museum was very interesting place to visit, beautiful gardens well planned out and Fantastic exhibits, ie The Battle of the Somme, trenches , Replica of the GPO and the exhibits. The whole history of the country, and its significance in the landscape of Cavan and its people. I would highly recommend it. Rooms were a good size although a little dated in parts. The bar area is a good size and there is room outside the bar to sit and talk as well. We were a bit concerned about the possibility of noise (our room overlooked the street and it was a Saturday), but all was silent after about 11.30pm. The staff were very helpful and efficient.
