Room was so lovely and spacious! Bed was super comfy and the shower was hot! Staff super friendly. Also the room service was delicious! We had a really early flight and they helped organise a taxi and also gave us fruit and toast for the journey!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It has everything one could wish for: very welcoming, friendly, gracious and helpful staff; a lobby and restaurant that is bright, spacious and spotlessly clean; an excellent buffet breakfast with a large variety of choices; a modern, well-equipped fitness centre; a well-furnished room with very comfy beds. We stayed two nights and would have loved to have stayed two more.

If you come to North Sulawesi to dive, but also to explore the surroundings and get to know the country and its people, then Murex Dive Resort is the ideal place. Located directly on the sea just outside the city in a spacious park area, it offers everything you need. Nice bungalows with AC, very good catering (we ate à la carte, not from the buffet) as well as cordial and helpful staff. Dive boats to Bunaken leave directly from the hotel's own beach. The resort also organizes tours into the hinterland. We were on a number of volcanoes (Empung, Mahawi and Soputan) as well as in Tangkoko National Park. Everything was perfectly organized and breathtakingly beautiful.

    So much to see not only in the Manado area but also islands,...

    So much to see not only in the Manado area but also islands, beaches and villages in the hills. Spent a total of 10 days there and so many more attractions I want to visit. Food options are great though quite a few eateries do not have aircon, so be prepared for that. Transport is easy and affordable. Wide range of accommodation options to suit budget. Would suggest out of main city centre not a bad idea because rates drop but quality is high. People very friendly.

    Manado is a vibrant and tourist oriented city. The good options are excellent with a wonderful de variety of restaurants with culturally diverse cuisine. The local restaurants along the ocean foreshore are very cheap but the food is amazing and the connection with locals adds to the experience. Great exchange rates on Aussie dollar. When looking at tourist places to see don’t just stay in Manado city go out to places like Tomahon and Tondano the scenery up in those places is exceptional.

    manado is a busy town and hard to get around- but a nice gateway to the diving islands and wildlife and people very friendly and welcoming we just stayed at hotel near airport and didnt see any local sights

    So many things to do, visit the mountain areas, (Tomohon and Tondano), visit the beach (Bunaken) and snorkelling or even dive for the most beautiful experience. See the markets, watch the sunset, and eat alot of good food.

    The staff and the owner were amazing! Genuinely friendly 1st class service without exception. You could see, people actually liked to work at that place! The food was excellent quality, versatile and very tasty, 3- course meals for lunch and dinner. The manager went out of his way to lend me one of their laptops for my studies afterhours, thank you so much for your help and trust, Arjen. And thank you so much to Jessie, for accompanying me to the Catholic Church in Manado during heavy rain; what an adventure!

    We had an amazing time at istanaku and came back twice during our North sulawesi trip. The staff was really nice and also helped us out a lot organising things. The hotel is very new and was the most clean we had in Indonesia. Breakfast was also very good having vegetarian options as well.

    The staff at the hotel are amazing. So friendly and helpful and made me feel special on my birthday. The hotel is in a good location and be pool and the view is brilliant. The shopping centre being next door is handy as well.
