To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise.
To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise. When deciding to stop there for a rest day on a 3 week motorcycle trip around Europe, I was hoping for some urban area where I would not get bored the first hour. With no research before arriving, we went for dinner the first night, and happened upon an outdoor restaurant in the castle ruins. On the surface it looked like a tourist trap, but food, service and pricing was great. The next day we went for a walk, again without much research and explored the center of the city, a very beautiful and historically important area as we learned. We had great food in some of the many restaurants, and we visited the UNESCO Heritage ruin as well as the basilica / cathedral. All in all, I am impressed.Guest review byKaiNorway - 10.0

The apartment was nestled in a small complex which allowed for quiet sleeping at night. Accessed via a key code then a couple flight of stairs to the apartment with lockbox was peace of mind. We had private parking lot (10 euros/day) nearby. Big apartment - three bed rooms and a big living room. Quiet area and apartment, but very close to the city center.
