Zadar is a wonderful city, and I especially liked the Diklo – a quiet and peaceful place, although the supermarkets there are very small. If you plan to cook for yourself, it is better to go to the city centre where there are larger supermarkets. However, even there the selection of fruit is quite poor – there were no figs, even though they grow everywhere! From Diklo to the centre of Zadar you can take bus number 8. The fare is paid in cash, and the buses run until 11 p.m. The timetable can be found here: https://liburnija-zadar.hr/en/city-transport/ In the Old Town you can also book excursions. I went to KRKA and really enjoyed it, but you should also take cash with you. The average bill for lunch (for example, fish and a beer) is around €25–35 for one person. I stayed in Zadar Old Town and enjoyed every minute. Lots of cultural attractions and the possibility for boat trips. Enjoyed wandering the streets of Zadar, the restaurants, the swimming by the musical water steps. Had nice Thai food at the entrance to the city and there was a lot to see and do. As with all Croatian sea towns, the narrow streets, tall buildings, churches and towers make Zadar very picturesque for photos. Our host was so welcoming, she made our stay definitely a 5 star experience. The complimentary treats when we arrived were really nice. The room was very peaceful. There were 2 balconies. Also a nice couch to relax and read books. We cannot enjoy more and we visited here one more time also on our way back. So we could play with Lea ( the doggy) and the cat.
