San Marcos is not for all travelers - lets get that out of the way. But there are groups of people that will upon arrival never ever want to leave. Spiritually minded people, those who really enjoy Yoga not as a sport or fitness regime but a way of life. Anyone into any form of ecstatic dance, shamanism, eco tourism or the like will discover in San Marcos a vibrant like-minded community and will never want to leave. The lake offers amazing views, a true spiritual center on this Earth and terrific vegetarian food options all over. DO NOT rent a car to come here, local transportation is by boats and TukTuk's, quite convenient infact.
