Picturesque and huge old town. You can really get lost in its maze of alleys and just explore it. Amazingly clean. The locals are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lively town with loads of great shops, bars and restaurants, to suit all tastes, particularly in the port area. Travelling around is easy with a good regular bus service which takes you to all the beautiful beaches. We enjoyed visiting St. George (Agios Georgios) Beach, which has shallow waters for young children Also, the Temple of Apollo was very nearby and has some amazing views. Our favourite part was taking a walk to the Castle (Kastro) in the Old Town . It's beautiful narrow cobbled streets with quaint shops along the way lead you to the breathtaking views when you reach the top. Remember to take a moment to absorb the views from this height. We loved our four nights and five days in Naxos and could easily have stayed longer. The city is perfect blend of culture, shops, restaurants, bar and nature. My teen daughter and I felt safe and loved the hospitality by everyone. So much to do too. Besides stunning beaches, villages, hiking, really amazing seafood restaurants to just walking around late at night. A lively port, beautiful beaches, the sunset at the Apollo is next level, a quaint little village, and felt safe with great bus services to lots of the different parts of the island. The appartment was cleant every single day, it has a very nice and quiet terasse with lots of grapes which we were allowed to eat and we could use towels and parasol to go to the beach. The owner, Vangelis, is super friendly. He helped us with our luggages and explained us a bit about Naxos Chora upon our arrival! We even got welcome and goodbye giftS! It's right next to the Princess Hotel which makes it easy to locate, with local buses stopping there, this hotel causing us no problems whatsoever, just added value with their pool and bar area. The centre of the town of Naxos can beach easily reached on foot in under 15 minutes, the ferry port is 20-25 minutes away on foot, but both can easily be reached on the half hourly bus service.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom
