Matina is in a brilliant location, far enough into old town that you still feel part of the atmosphere and a minute or two walk to the port. Also far enough removed that you’re not disturbed by any of the music, clubbing etc. Allows you to walk through the old streets with your accomodation still close by.

The location of the property was fab ! The best view that one can get in Mykonos ! The property is new and has all the facilities. It’s located very close town .. we could walk to it. The staff was just wonderful. Sophie at the reception was super sweet and helpful. We stayed for 5 nights and we had the most amazing stay !

    Great island.

    Great island. Beautiful and great for clubs and beach walking. However. Very expensive and the drivers charge either 40 or 50 euros even if you go 1 mile. Basically fixed fee. No other options. They will squeeze your budget there. Kind of an indirect tourist fee. But the people are very nice and all speak great English. But it’s a money pit. Be careful.

    Mykonos City has lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants...

    Mykonos City has lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants within a small area so it is easy to find everything you need without needing additional transport. We took a trip to Delos and there were other excursions/boat trips we could have gone on. We hired a quad bike and spent a couple of days visiting the beaches around the island but it was possible to get around by bus too. Cabs are pretty pricey compared to the UK. It was 40 euros to go 5 mins from the airport so best to book that from UK beforehand. We got an Uber on the way back which was a bit cheaper. Mykonos is more expensive than some of the other Greek Islands but there are many good, reasonably priced tavernas where you can buy souvlaki/gyros. We also ate at D’Angelos, Georgia’s Garden and Rustic Grill - 10-15 euros for a main course. A cappuccino is 3 or 4 euros and a local beer or glass wine is around 5 euros. It’s pretty hilly in Mykonos, so bear that in mind if mobility is an issue - you’d need to have accommodation in the centre if you want to avoid an uphill climb back to your hotel/room, etc.

    It is a very popular place for people with plenty of money, so, amazing shops and nightclubs - but mostly for window shopping! Nonetheless, it is still a beautiful place, retaining charm and character despite the multitude of visitors at this time of year.

    a gorgeous place to visit and Mykonos town is a great place to explore on foot. Great choice of food and places to eat. There are some lovely boutiques for shopping and the people are so welcoming. It felt very safe as the city centre and is pedestrianised so no need to worry about cars.

    Family owned and operated villa. They were very nice and helpful. It's in a nice location. My family was able to walk to the villa from the first bus-stop in Mykanos. Also, we walked to the New Port to get a high speed ferry to another island; took 15 minutes to walk to it. There is a nice restaurant just past the hotel (about 500 m), and also one across the street. Also, there is a grocery store close by if you need to purchase other items. The walk to Mykanos town was about 10 minutes at a brisk pace.

    Everything, it was very special. The location was perfect, up a short hill so the views were amazing, I could see over Mykonos town and the iconic windmills from my rooms terrace. The staff were so nice, being a small (20 room) hotel it felt like you were part of a happy family. The swimming pool was small but perfectly formed and being up a hill meant there was a breeze which stopped you boiling in the high temperatures. The rooms were spotless and the decor elegant, I really can’t fault it for anything

    the location is excellent if you are planning to go to the down town, walking distance about 5-10 min but on returning back it Is a steep elevation and always in Mykonos the road are tight so you have to watch the cars, the sunset view is Stunning , the swimming pool is small but it is enough to chill, the best thing I enjoyed in the hotel was the friendly staff , I forgot their names unfrotuantely because of my bad memory, but all of them were very lovely

    Beautiful pool and the most luxurious pool furniture better than the 5 star hotels i have stayed in across the world ❤️ The breakfast was delicious everything you could choose from! Fabulous sunset and sunrise views!Hilly walk down to town but i am in my 60’s with a new hip 2 years ago due to broken femur and i managed it! Gets steps up too! Loved our stay! Lovely staff

    Hotel Gorgona was perfect in every way. This family owned hotel was attentive to every need. The location was excellent and close to the main town but far enough away to be able to have a quiet and relaxing time. The view was breathtaking from our balcony! Breakfasts were excellent!
