The hotel itself is situated in a peaceful part of Messonghi and is very close, walking, to get to the village centre. The hotel pool bar serving the best cocktails and snacks Messonghi hosts several cheap restaurants. Bachus is a the one we tried. There's also a variety of good massages. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Shame we had to stay for just a day.

I just want to say good job to the person who created interior, everything was beyond perfect. Moraitika is not the best place to stay (if you want to do evening walks etc) but I'm sure this is the best apartment to stay in Moraitika.

First review about "Sophia's Farmhouse" so it's a little longer to help others decide if it's the right thing. Location: The property is located on a hillside overlooking Mesongi, a touristy and small village down by the ocean on the eastern side of Corfu. It's a 45-minute drive from the airport. From Mesongi to the property it's no more than 5 minutes by car, which itself is absolutely mandatory in my opinion. You would have a hard time getting luggage and groceries to your holiday home without a scooter, car or quad. Property: The house is an old massive stone house. The entrance leads straight to the living room with a couch (190x90) a basic kitchenette with a small fridge and the enclosed bathroom with shower on the ground floor. Bathroom ventilation is nonexistent, you just leave the folding door to the living room open. A pretty steep stairway with sturdy and certainly necessary handrails leads to the first floor. A small staircase vestibule offers a second sleeping option for a second person. Behind a door is the bedroom with a proper double bed(180x190) and a spacious wooden wardrobe. A second door leads to a small chamber with storage for bed linen, bags, iron and cleaning supplies. The ground floor and first floor both have a quiet air condition unit but there was only one remote available to control them both. During our visit, sleeping in the bedroom required the AC to be switched on all night, which we usually avoid. The ground floor is much cooler at night if cooled down during sunset using the AC. The floor separating the two storeys is vintage and made of wooden planks... (1/2)

    There are so many restaurants in Messonghi and I have never had a bad meal there. Bacchus is superb, Romeos, fabulous, Koralis, Kostas, Meraki, I could go on and all within a couple of minutes walk. Plenty of activities on the beach for adults and children. The Bakery is great for breakfast, coffees, pastrys and the cake selection is superb.

    It's a quaint, rustic place.

    It's a quaint, rustic place. Small with some nice restaurants and small selection of bars. It's safe and if you're a runner you'll enjoy some nice hilly runs along the coast. Also saw some people out on road bikes, with mountains close by I'd say there are great climbs and views from the top. The weather was amazing for the time of the year, the sea is absolutely gorgeous and the people are lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Loved that we had the option of going to Corfu Town which is only 30/40 mins on a local bus. Also the famous SiSi Empress of Austria has a summer palace close by and that is well worth visiting, stunning bit of culture and amazing views.

    Because of some abandoned buildings and trash everywhere, an abandoned and rusting boat on the shore of Mesongi river, unkept roads, the town seems a bit run-down. There aren't many buildings that catch your eyes as authentic, there are businesses everywhere, car rentals, souvenir and other shops that cover the loveliness of most buildings along the main road. It is a tourist town and not a place with an air of being authentic Corfian. Also, everything seems to be overpriced.

    Messonghi is a lovely resort not to touristy and has enough restaurants and other facilities to make a good holiday There are a couple of decent supermarkets and bike and car hire It’s easy to visit corfu town as the bus goes regularly

    Surprisingly, pretty vibrant at night.

    Surprisingly, pretty vibrant at night. It is a smaller-size village you can zig-zag the whole place in 30 minutes. But, it has everything, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, rentals and many tourists there so it feels "bigger" and more lively. From Messonghi, you can easily walk, or ride a bike to Moraitika, as it is very close. It is super hot in July and August. Protect yourself at all times. You'll get sunburns easily. Beach is nice, not the best in Corfu but nice, with plenty of loungers, beach-front hotels. Pebble stones mixed with sandy spots. Mostly pebbles. I have been to Greece many times, different locations, most places I have been to had open door policy for using swimming pools, or buy a drink and stay kind of policy. Not in Messonghi. All the places I visited I was told pool was for residents/guests only. Overall a very good spot for a relaxing holiday. Much better than Benitses. (I have been to both now) Taxi from the Airport costs 50 Eur.

    Beautifully designed hotel, where they really look after you. The sun loungers on the beach were some of the comfiest I've ever laid on, they kept you provided with lots of free water, and the rooms with the private pools are just amazing. It's a great location if you enjoy local authentic Greek tavernas, as there's lots on your doorstep. I travelled alone and felt really safe, and well looked after by the wonderful staff.

    Location Is just amazing. 3 minutes walk to the restaurants and beach. Really in the centre of a beautiful village with everything on your doorstep. Helena, the lady in charge was extremely professional but also very helpful and has a fantastic knowledge of the area and nothing was a problem to her. She went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. This hotel is small and has everything you would need for a stay.

    Great family-run hotel in a beautiful location right on the beach. Spacious, clean room with balcony and AC. Good variety of breakfast foods on offer and beach sunbeds included in the price. The owners were very friendly and helpful - they made our stay really enjoyable. Would recommend to all looking for a peaceful beach holiday!

    Corfu itself is a beautiful island, but this hotel lets it down. It is located very close to the water with beautiful views but it is far from any busy area, you need a car to get to restaurants etc apart from the two that are walking distance from the hotel.

    In general, this hotel is quite good. Close to the sea, room was nice, staff is friendly, clean, 3 swimming pools. There is a Messonghi travel agency near the hotel. Bus station to Corfu city is in front of the hotel.
