Amazing little boutique hotel slightly outside of Chania. I had one of the ground floor, pool-facing rooms, it was very spacious, comfortable and clean, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped to be able to cook your own meals, although the kitchenette is tiny, all the equipment you need is available. I loved the pool area in particular, with sun beds and even a hammock, it was so quiet and peaceful when I visited as it was early in the season. The hosts were super lovely and helpful, and the cleaning ladies did a thorough job every day, even doing the dishes which was such a luxury! The supermarket is ca 10 mins walk (note - up the hill on the way back so can be though in the heat), and you can catch a bus once an hour to and from Chania just outside of the hotel which takes between 17-35 mins (shorter into town, longer on the way back). I had an amazing week's stay and can highly recommend Kanso!

The accommodation exceeded our expectations – everything was great. The kitchen was very well equipped, we didn't miss a thing, and having a washing machine available was a big plus. Everything was spotless and tidy, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. It was perfectly quiet at night, so we slept really well. The area felt very safe, and we had a strong sense of security the entire time. The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. We highly recommend this place to anyone, and we would be happy to come back in the future.

We booked a little last minute, but were very happy we did. The hotel is just outside the old town and walking distance to the bus station. Following several long day trips, we ended up ordering room service on the balcony. The food was great, nice to relax there and chill out. The staff were very friendly and lovely. Top marks!

we loved our stay! the room was large, and we could enjoy our small swimming pool with a nice view! all staff extremely kind and the massage the day after walking the gorge was perfect! Breakfast was every day a perfect experience! thanks so much to all the staff who made our stay perfect! also the cleaning was extremely good (noticing we came often with sand, wet beach towels, etc).

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this apartment during our vacation. The location is perfect – peaceful and quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle, which made it ideal for relaxation. The apartment itself was exceptionally well-equipped with everything you could possibly need: toaster, sandwich maker, ironing board, iron, bathroom cosmetics, laundry capsules, full sets of bathroom towels for everyone, as well as extra towels for the jacuzzi, bathrobes, dishwasher capsules, a coffee machine, microwave, kettle, oven, and even a first aid kit. Every detail was thoughtfully provided. There was also a closed parking space directly under the building, which was very convenient. Despite our late arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful host, who kindly explained where to eat and what to see in the area. Waiting for us in the apartment was a basket of fresh fruit, breakfast bread, and a bottle of wine – such a thoughtful gesture. Each bedroom had its own balcony, and the living room featured large terrace doors leading out to a spacious terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea. On the terrace we enjoyed the hanging swing chair, the jacuzzi, and a table with four chairs, where we loved sharing meals while admiring the view. None of the photos in the listing were exaggerated – the place truly looks just as magical in real life. The hospitality exceeded anything we have ever experienced before. The host and his wife even brought us homemade cookies and surprised us with a farewell gift of local specialties. Their kindness and warmth made us feel truly special. It was our very first stay in Greece, and thanks to this incredible apartment and the extraordinary hosts, it is a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives. A true dream come true!

    Galatas is situated between Chania and Agia Marina, meaning there is no shortage of places to go. We felt perfectly situated and actually didn't leave the area all that much. We really wanted a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. Highlight restaurants (they were all really good) are Manny's, Nesaki and Theodosi. Between lunch and dinner we ate at almost every restaurant in our small area and didn't have one bad meal. The food is amazing and all reasonably priced. It took us a while to get the bus sorted in our heads but we got there eventually - I used the Moovit App. We would love to have used the Electric bikes available all over the place but couldn't get the app working. I would definitely have this sorted before my next visit. This area is for everyone, young and old. I don't know what the night life is like though but we loved the buzz around the place. I also felt safe, all of the time. This is a really family place.

    Galatas is a quiet suburb of Platanias and next to Chania.

    Galatas is a quiet suburb of Platanias and next to Chania. It's mainly apartments and houses uphill. There are not much restaurants or supermarkets and no bars. When you stay here, a airconditioned car is an absolute must. When I would travel with family to Crete again, I would not stay here again but stay at one of the bigger hotels in Platanias with access to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby.

    Galatas was one of the nicest places we have visited!

    Galatas was one of the nicest places we have visited! It had gorgeous beaches that we spent hours snorkeling and swimming at. We ate food at amazing restaurants. The people of Galatas were so friendly and made our stay more memorable. I would definitely stay here again. It is only a 10 minute drive from Chania Old Town. We were able to visit a different beach for each day we stayed here.
